Trade dead line is always a fun time of the year. I'd always take my family to OCMD and walking along the beach was Joe Mcillvaine, talking with the Orioles GM. I told my wife expect a Mets trade since the Mets GM was here in Ocean City. Next day the trade was announced. I'm thinking that was the

David Segui trade in 1995.

I know McNeil was taken out after the double. Precautionary or did he "re-fatigue" the leg?
In the post game presser, McNeil basically said he was fine and that his exit was just the way the game played out. Which makes some sense. Guillorme was already in the game, having pinch hit earlier in the inning. Pillar would certainly be entering the game as a defensive replacement for Smith who was at bat. So why not?

We'll know soon enough.

Once Carrasco returns, and with Jake on the near horizon, I think the need for a starter diminishes. I would rather see the Mets go after another late inning arm for the pen.

Not Mets related, unless Javy Baez is traded to them. But this Javy Baez game winner was classic.

And couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy than Amir Garrett lol.

No surprise there. Two guys cut from the same cloth and a LOT of personal history there. Garrett likes to stick out his chest and yell after big strikeouts and Baez likes to toss his bat, stand and admire home runs and stare down pitchers. Both are the kind of guys you only like if they are on your team.

I wonder if Tyler Anderson's middle initial is B. Maybe Rojas knew something all along that we didn't?

If a trade is completed by say 4:00, I'm sure that Uncle Steve will have a private jet ready to go. Worst case, use Drew or Yennsy as a two inning opener while he gets dressed and acclimated.

Hell, Drew (gopher ball) Smith could give up 2-3 homers in that time.

Drew Smith is a 4A pitcher at best. He is up with the Mets because he's out of options. That's a piss poor reason to keep a pitcher around at the expense of others who are likely to be better.

Kumar Rocker deal reportedly in jeopardy. Mets concerned about results of his physical. They must sign him by Sunday. If not, he goes back to Vandy, Mets lose his rights, but get a compensation pick in 2022.

Well this is odd, since Eickhoff elected free agency when he cleared waivers. C'est la vie said the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell...

Which would be pick 11.

I am sure we must have won a bidding war to retain his services. He probably had ten other suitors. My guess is he chose the Mets knowing he would probably suffer a freak injury by just stepping onto the field, get transferred to the 60 day DL and get paid for the rest of the season.

Tyler Anderson to Phils close to being done. Net win/win for us. We don't have to pitch him and will go up against him for the division!

As ordinary as he is he's already beaten us once. The game in which he also hit a home run. I'm sure the Phils are aware of that too and our struggles against lefthanded pitchers in general.

He opted for free agency rather than go back to AAA. As I'm sure he didn't have many options he resigned with the Mets. Hey,at least he gets paid for tonight.

On Rocker:

- There are questions about him.

- Royals and Angels at 7 and 9 took pitchers ahead of Rocker. They obviously had their reasons.

- The Questions about Rocker:

1. His velocity dipped this year
2. Questions about his mechanics which Major Leaguers can pickup
3. Sub par College Playoff / World Series

Hope he turns out to be a stud and I hope the hype doesn't outweigh the results.
Now I more fully understand why Royals and Angels took pitchers ahead of Rocker.

Our starting pitcher is pulling a Simone Biles. Heart just not in it. Hurting the team even trying😎

Just proves the point of how much we need a trade for at least two pitchers

Trae Turner removed from game with the idea of possible trade. Can we remove Eichoff now? Will a team trade for him? Bag of balls?
