Nimmo, Conforto back in starting lineup. Good. Mets need a mean reversion from Conforto, which won't happen from the bench.
And IMO that is the lineup we need to sink or swim with.
What is more likely, Conforto getting hot, or Drury staying hot?

The pitching staff carried this team for the first half of the season. Everyone knew they could not maintain that pace while the offense NEVER showed up at any point during the season.

Just enough to tease us and then frustrate once again. Huge added run given up by Lugo. I predict the division lead is gone by the time they return to Citi Field.
After this weekend,there will be only 3 games in the next 7 weeks among the the three teams in the race,Sept.17-19,Phils at Mets.
As Rojas commented in his post game interview, the hitting approach of this team is awful.
Mets rarely score runs early and continue to swing awfully when up 3-0 in counts.
An overhaul is needed offensively next year.
Only starters I see coming back next year are: Alonso; Lindor (contractual); McCann (contractual) and Dom. Thus I see following starters gone next year: Davis; Nimmo; Mc Neil and Conforto.
How to replace them: That'll be up to the Front Office and Cohen's money (I hope).
You can't bring this team back. Too many injuries / lackadasical play / inability to manufacture runs / and core couldn;t even make the playoffs lastyear with 8 teams getting in.

This is the first time that I have serious doubts on the season. Mostly because the Phillies are finally looking like a contender. Prior to this, I thought we would just win it by default.
So when the 3 Amigos prediction of multiple championships in a 5 year period by The New Core 4 ends this year 0-5, what will you say? I know what you all will do, go back into radio silence, honker down, and stop visiting any Yankees threads. Death, taxes and a Yankee fan base going into hiding. I could set my watch to it.😛
Did not see interview. I assume you are paraphrasing. Blunt public criticism doesn't seem to be Rojas' style.
If Rojas doesn't like the team's approach on 3-0, then he ought to start giving take signs. If you give McCann the OK to swing 3-0, and he swings at exactly the type of pitch you SHOULD swing at on 3-0, but he misses it because that happens sometimes... well then you have no right to bitch.
Ordinarily you'd expect this to be the moment when an internet board would enter panic mode. But not here, since this particular board resides in panic mode.
I made no such prediction.
Also, I'm a firm believer in "Winners brag, Losers shut up".

Wow. He was the MLB #19 international prospect during the 2017 international signing period. Basically, the equivalent of a #1 draft pick. Much was expected of him but he has been injury prone and never really developed. Was hitting .133 in Brooklyn. Still, at age 20 he was three years younger than the average High A player, and had plenty of time to turn it around. I wonder if there is more to this story, but we are not entitled to know every story.
