Careers not even in the same stratosphere but Baez is souring on me quickly.
Admittedly, I have it in for Baez. @RuBird seems to like his spunk, but he comes across as a punk, the type of player always looking to start something with the other side. He should make sure he can deliver the goods before he looks to start sh!t with other teams. He looks foolish.

He’s still batting 133 for the season!!!! Hes not an All Star all of a sudden and still shouldn’t be playing for the Newark Bears!!!

The others: what can I say. Season is over because the Mets can’t hit
Newark Bears no longer exist. Which may be your point.

Can't spell spunk without punk.

What you’re supposed to do vs horrible teams . Beat up on minor league relievers
the Nats should suffer like the Cubs did for the next 108 years

*****but all that matters is the Mets are a close nit bunch of good wholesome fellas *****

As the Mets implode once again, and with the strong possibility that the Mets will not make the playoffs once again - 3 things reside with me:

1. How can a team repeatedly be so bad and unclutch at the plate.

2. You can’t lose 2 gimme games in Pittsburgh and 3 of 4 in Miami

3. Team did not have talent / character to absorb the losses of Degrom and Lindor

Mets management needs to bring in winners / players who instill confidence etc and not the deadbeats that this team seems to always have.

Do you ever think management is the problem? Acting GM Scott is more concerned with rats and raccoons than acquiring talent to address the team's shortcomings. And what exactly is Sandy's role?

Get rid of these two and get someone from the Rays front office like they should have 3 years ago. Sandy is the most overrated exec in baseball. And Scott screwed up his GM audition by screwing up the deadline.

Big problem with management but they’re not the ones hitting .100 at the plate with RISP

What should have occurred :

- Springer signing instead of Lindor
- Realmuto signing instead of McCann

Above are either Management and / or Ownership issues. Probably more management.

Did not see game. Looked on mets.com and saw the headline "RISP Issues Doom Mets". Then checked box and saw they went 4 for 13 with RISP, which is quite good. But they only scored two runs. What am I missing?
No one scored on 2 of the hits. Held up at 3b.

Realmuto was not coming to the Mets. Can't cry over milk that never spilled.

Management is responsible for the players who are hitting .100 with RISP. They overvalued some players (Conforto, Villar, Almora Jr., etc.) and ignored those (Realmuto & Springer). That approach has led to the problem we see now. It's the same with pitching as the injuries mount. Management loves dumpster diving instead of getting quality front-line pitchers. Once again, as far as hitting, management didn't really attempt to address the hitting problem. They still believe the current players will come around. We are in August, and if it hasn't happened by now, it never will.

I think the Lindor situation was about adding pitching, so that trade made sense at the time. IMO, Springer didn't want the bright lights. He was using the Mets to get more money from someone else.

I think the Mets ran from Realmuto because, true to form, Sandy tried to find value in a situation where there was no need. Sandy was concerned with ending up with no catcher, but I still believe money talks. You know it's sad when McCann, the offensive catcher, had someone pinch-hit for him today because there was little faith in him delivering.

Realmuto was never going to NY.

Bottom line, first inning yesterday we took pitches and got the first 3 runners on. Then…….we went back to swinging at horrible pitches early and often. You don’t win games in the first few innings by swinging for the fences. For the love of ….. play some small ball. Move runners over, hit away from the shift when they are giving you a gap as big as Strahan’s front teeth. LFGM!

Not Mets related but it’s another tale from the umps. So it will eventually be Mets related.

Rob Manfred’s dumb ass looking for ways to ruin baseball, what Soto is doing should be one of the legit things he should change to speed up the game. But he’s not because he’s more worried about the shift and glove checks.

The rule is 12 seconds between pitches, and if the league would require umps to enforce it and endow them with the power to call a ball if the pitcher takes too long or a strike if the batter isn't ready in the box, all of the problems that baseball has with lengthy, boring games would go away. The average time between pitches is 23.8 seconds, almost double the rule, and the average number of pitches per game is now over 290. Do the math. It would save over 45 minute per game, and still allow baseball to play all the commercials that they now play. But they haven't done it, which I presume means that they won't do it.

In hindsight, you are correct. However, I truly thought Lindor was the real deal as did most. The trade itself was fine. The contract, as you’ve said, was terrible. They did, however, dodge the Bauer bullet.

A few months into a 10 year contract- I am far from calling him a bust. That is just crazy talk.

Can file me in the taking Springer over Lindor camp (by a mile) - the guy's basically Ruthian come crunch time (with or without the garbage can). However, I was also fine with the McCann signing and that has turned out to be not so wise.
