Put the ball in play, a swinging bat is a dangerous
bat for Christ sakes!!!!
bat for Christ sakes!!!!

You're wrong about Moneyball and Mets players. Who fits the profile you're speaking of?
Also Moneyball is just simply about finding value where it is not being currently valued in the game, at that time it was OBP.
Can't speak to buffet tables, but replay review has made umpire tantrums a thing of the past. Can someone turn over a buffet table in the clubhouse or throw a tantrum at the umps. This team needs to get fired up. This is a month long slump.
I see it quite differently. These guys need someone or something to shake then out of the lethargy they are in. Collectively they need a spark. I also disagree about manager tantrums. Joe Girardi (who I wanted here) gave us a pretty good example last night of how its done. Can anyone imagine Rojas doing that? Can't speak to buffet tables, but replay review has made umpire tantrums a thing of the past.
To your larger point, I must disagree. Team is collectively mired in a deep hitting slump. I don't think "getting fired up" helps. OK, they're fired up. Now they each take their turn in the batter's box. What do you want them to do? Grip the bat tighter?
When hitters are in a hot streak, they invariably say how RELAXED they feel at the plate. On the other hand, hitters in a slump talk about how they are pressing.
It would be one thing if guys were not hustling or did not have their heads in the game. I've seen no evidence of that though.

Well he did have a decent go at it last week and got tossed when Walker was getting squeezed on balls and strikes.I see it quite differently. It like most fans on this site don't really understand football even though they follow the game. Anyway, I may not understand the Moneyball concept, but there are major problems with this team. It's becoming clear Alderson is the lead problem, followed by Rojas. The team reflects the mood of its leadership.I can't believe that most people somehow still don't understand the concept.

Full disclosure: I'm angry beyond words, and I'm lashing out because it's the only way to relieve tension. I feel like Charlie Brown failing to kick the football.

He went absolutely bonkers after Harper got hit in the face and Didi in the ribs by the same pitcher. What did Girardi do?
deGrom might have the shortest Hall of Fame speech ever because he'll have no one to thank other than himself. 🤬
This is something that is fairly new. If you go back to the pre 2000's- wins were still an important stat for a starter. Through 1999, double digit complete games were somewhat normal. It is now rare that you even get a single pitcher to even throw more that 2 or 3 in a season.Jake is a prime example of how you can’t put too much emphasis on wins when putting pitchers in the Hall of Fame.
I am telling you. This is a team without any leadership (players or managers). I was finally happy to hear McCann at least say that this offense is not acceptable. That is probably the angriest anyone on this team has gotten.I see it quite differently. These guys need someone or something to shake then out of the lethargy they are in. Add the fact Phillies starting pitchers has an ERA over 6 and hasn't pitched past the 6 innings in his last 12 starts.Tonight can get Chili and or Rojas fired
No Harper Didi or Realmuto
Ramos could have done that. McCann looks like more garbage. There goes the ball game.
The whole team is garbage.Ramos could have done that. McCann looks like more garbage.
Time for Edgardo Alfonzo to take over...Little league Mets.
The shifts seem to work only against the Mets.
Passed ball/ wild pitch leads to 2 runs...WTF. That's total GORGON SH*T.
Two runs are too much for the Mets to overcome.
