Thank you!!!Glasnow is nasty. He could go into the 7th or later with a no no.
Shift’d
weak contact right to second baseman spot. Shift doesn’t make sense when you play someone to pull but throw him 3 straight sliders away
C'mon, I ain't so badShift is 💩
It has to be the worst stadium in MLB. The Rays should race the A's to see who can get to be the first team in Las Vegas. What a pithole that stadium is
While I am generally an analytics guy, I don't see how you can go full shift in that situation against a right hand hitter, with the first baseman holding the runner. You're just inviting first and third, and that is what you got. Especially, as you point out, when you play your defense one way and pitch the other way.Shift’d

Can we come to some kind of agreement on the Kelenic updates? Like maybe, limit them to weekly? If you insist on posting each time he homers, I'll post each time he takes an oh-fer. So there. 😉Welp add the Kelenic 1st HR salt to that daggerous loss
I'm pretty sure Rojas did not get to where he is by being stupid.Rojas is stupid. Instead of intentionally walking that hitter, he had Rojas pitch 4 out of 5 pitches in the dirt with the unintentional intentional walk to load the bases. Wasted 5 pitches for nothing.
Although if you insist on being the board's Mariner monitor, you may as well also provide updates on Chris Flexen, Rafael Montero, Paul Sewald, and Sam Haggerty. Unlike what's his name, these guys are actually former Mets.Welp add the Kelenic 1st HR salt to that daggerous loss

Best solution will be to post them in the Yankee thread lolCan we come to some kind of agreement on the Kelenic updates? Like maybe, limit them to weekly? If you insist on posting each time he homers, I'll post each time he takes an oh-fer. So there. 😉
Those are interesting and vague points. Now back to our regularly-scheduled program. This was the stupidest stupid trade in the history of stupid stupidity. It has achieved Stupidstardom. BVW-IQ should be forced to legally change his name to Stu Pied. There’s a rumor that BVW-WTF tried to sneak back into Citifield and send Dom Smith to Seattle as a player to be named later in the Cano deal. Wilpon Jr. was with him shouting, “I’m still an owner,” and was later seen holding his shoe to his ear shouting, “why doesn’t anybody answer?” He asked the grounds crew to move the fences back 30 feet to where he had them originally, and the grounds crew had to tell him that they only cut grass. BVW-GED asked about Cano, and when told that he wasn’t there, tried to trade for him. He offered Alonso and deGrom and our last three first-round picks. Despite being escorted off the property, he scheduled a press conference for tomorrow to announce the deal. He believes that the deal will change the way front offices are run for decades. He walked off the grounds with his phone to his ear and Wilpon Jr. trailing him asking to go out for some ice cream.Never said anything about being against acquiring a great player.
Never said making "dumb dee dumb dumb trades" are a good thing.
Merely pointing out that any individual player (even the greatest) isnt nearly as impactful as people make it out to be.
I actually agree about simply walking him since he wouldn’t chase those two pitches in the dirt, which were great plays by McCann just to stop them. But if you weren’t going to pitch to the batter, just give him the walk without risk.I'm pretty sure Rojas did not get to where he is by being stupid.
The pitch-around has been part of baseball as long as I remember. And at my age, my long-term memory is pretty good. (Don't ask me where I left my keys though.) Zunino is a free swinger. I have no problem with trying to get him to chase. I probably would have pointed him to first base after ball two, but that's a nitpick, and had nothing to do with the outcome.
Wow... There’s a lot of 450 foot homers in that bunch.Although if you insist on being the board's Mariner monitor, you may as well also provide updates on Chris Flexen, Rafael Montero, Paul Sewald, and Sam Haggerty. Unlike what's his name, these guys are actually former Mets.
About this being a really stupid trade. Yeah, probably. But consider the following hypothetical. Game 7 of WS. Mets have a one run lead entering the ninth inning. They need three outs for the title. Those are interesting and vague points. Now back to our regularly-scheduled program. This was the stupidest stupid trade in the history of stupid stupidity. Nailed it...And Peterson pitched a hell of a game. This team needs to hit. Hard to believe that the bats would be the problem this year. Imagine if we didnt have the bench we do have though. Villar/Pillar ends up being the signings of the year. We would be 5 games under without themLooking at today's game- here is hoping Peterson has one of his hot games. They have a damn good pitcher going. Our team makes me feel each day that if the other team score 3, we are going to lose.

Every GM in baseball would happily trade any prospect in their system in exchange for those three outs.
That's what it will take to salvage this trade. A ring. With Edwin Diaz being an important part of getting it.
I know that we have a bunch of posters in this thread, and I am on the fence, that do not want to see continued Kelenic talk all year. But, it is part of Met's baseball this year so it is here to stay.Probably?
You have a support group here with us.My problem with Kelenic is I NEVER track MLB drafts - except his. Saw his swing for two seconds and dreamed of decades of goodness. Then the dope trades him X months later for an aging albatross and a closer. Still in stunned disbelief. I’ll get over it, but not in his first week and not after a 3-4 with a HR.
What do you expect from a rocket scientist?McCann the DH today lol.
I'm not sure you get that every aspect of this trade was bad. It's a horrible trade if Kelenic never even saw the major leagues. The best thing to say about this trade is that the already steroid-suspended Cano did it again so that the Mets don't have to pay his salary for one year, but then the Mets have two more years of $40-50 million to pay him anyway until Cano is like 77 and BVW-DQ is looong gone. That he banked on a reliever who had one good year and gave up any prospects, much less your best, are just other individual nonsensey nonsense things about the trade. The Mariners fleeced an amateur hour participant at GM who had no experience whatsoever in a front office and no past opportunity to even show he had any talent at it, and who turned out to be terrible at it.I know that we have a bunch of posters in this thread, and I am on the fence, that do not want to see continued Kelenic talk all year. With that said- yes, Diaz will need a Mo type playoff run to make it worth the while. But even then, if Kelenic ends up with a first 5 years anywhere near Trouts first 5, it will continue- and even worse when Cano's salary is back on payroll next year and we may see him back on the team. Met's best bet all ways around is to just buy him out. Get him off payroll and team.
As for Kelenic- What a beautiful swing. Dammit- that would have been a moment at Citi...Maybe the next 5-7 years go fast and good for us with 2 WS championships and then sign Kelenic to a contract that leads us to 2-3 more over the following decade...can only dream
Not a lot of better options though. All the logical candidates are in the starting lineup.McCann as DH is a joke.
Doesn't make sense unless he is a little dinged up. Why start any game with both catchers in the lineup and McCann is here as much for his defense and calling games as much as offense. Though, with all the injuries, we are kind of limited. Only real other option is to have Guilorme as DH and McCann or Nido behind the plate.McCann as DH is a joke.
If McNeil is unavailable, then the only other options are Mazeika and Hager, who just got here. Guillorme is on IL.Doesn't make sense unless he is a little dinged up. Also really hate "openers" we use our BP too much as it is. On the other hand- deGrom, Sto and Peterson do have the ability to go pretty deep into games. Walker has been great but doesn't go as deep. Would love to start seeing him going 7 consistent.
