I long for a day when the umps can call a simple strike or ball as it should be. Too often a strike in the first inning is a ball by the 4th inning, then back to a strike in the 7th inning.

Familia wasn't bad but Rojas continues to misuse his staff and now some guys are not available. Also, the game should not tied had the ump called Freeman out on the check swing third strike. Instead Freeman hits a homerun.
I like how Steven Cohen rolls. Screw the haters.

What a wonderful win. This is a great group.
Would be very cool if this ragtag group keeps it together for a couple of weeks and we find ourselves 7 or so games above .500 when the Major league team comes back.

Maybe there is something more special about this team I realized. When they gave up the second run in the seventh inning, I thought they would loose the game for sure, but they pulled it out. Even Diaz looked good pitching for the third straight day.
If it was not already clear, it should be now:
- Not all Met losses are due to Luis Rojas.
- Not all Met wins are in spite of Luis Rojas.
He worked the pitching to perfection tonight. Only a lucky hit by Ozuna led to the game being tied at 3.

Doing it once doesn't make him good at it. His numbers in multi innings games are not good.
Rojas is still terrible. One game good or bad does not tilt the needle but the way he handles this team is horrible. But...it isn't much different then the last guy- the team is being managed by dweebs in the front office.
That said- been saying before the injuries- Met's built a great bench this year- the type of bench that helps teams win championships. It is too bad they will have to carry the team for a couple more weeks but we hang in there, this team can be dynamic in the 2nd half.

Only 2 games this yr. Took the loss against the Cubs and then got a save the other time.
I didn’t look up stats but it always seems to me it is in games that are not close.

It would be nice to get some length from our starter tonight. Bullpen has been great but you can't overwork them.

The reason the Mets are over .500 is the pitching. It's an odd year in baseball, with hitting numbers down, so I'm not sure what normal is. But the Mets aren't hitting much (23d in baseball OPS), and there doesn't seem to be a breaking ball in the dirt that they won't swing at. The Mets's bench is, well, fine I guess. But the pitching is leading the way--3d best ERA in baseball. Let's not get confused about what we're seeing.
Now, is this a different team healthy? Sure. How much. We'll see.
