I’d rather a safety cone bat third rather than Maybin or McCant. At least the cone may walk or get hit by a pitch, will never hit into a DP or swing at horrible pitches
Dom is looking around and trying to figure out when he was sent down to the minors. LolDon't like Cameron Maybin hitting third? Be careful what you wish for...
Five more innings. I think that is all. Davis returns tomorrow. Somebody will have to go, and I think it will be Maybin.Have seen enough of maybin. He is horrible.
Davis not returning for a few days. Reported neck strain out for the Cuse today and will still need to play a few days there before coming back upFive more innings. I think that is all. Davis returns tomorrow. Somebody will have to go, and I think it will be Maybin.
We did free Jake Hager.Free Jake Hagar get rid of Maybin the bum
Need to see him in the lineup not released. We did free Jake Hager.
So much for him being a decent pick up. 🤷🏻♂️Have seen enough of maybin. He is horrible.
Don’t think anyone is pining over him. Just frightening how sad it is that he is a better player than Maynevergetahitagain. At least Hager acted like he wanted to play the game.Re Hager, interesting how Met fans are pining over a career minor leaguer who went one for eight. Kind of shows you where things are at.
I don't think Met fans are crying anymore to see Hager in a Mets' uniform as you assigning a roster spot for Dee Gordon.Re Hager, interesting how Met fans are pining over a career minor leaguer who went one for eight. Kind of shows you where things are at.
Here's what I think. Rojas is an inexperienced manager who does not trust his gut. He sticks to the game plan. Yesterday the game plan for Lucchesi was four innings. I am sure the assumption was it would take Lucchesi about 70 pitches to get through four innings. It did not. Rojas chose to stick to the game plan. Not a horrible decision as it turned out, as the bullpen performed reasonably well. What would have happened had Lucchesi stayed in? We will never know.I'm shocked no one has mentioned how Rojas allowed Yamamoto to continue to pitch after giving up 5 runs. Yesterday, Lucchesi was pitching great, and suddenly Rojas takes him out... WTF. Lucchesi has been a mess every outing except yesterday, so what gives?
yamamotto is hurt. So maybe that wasn't the plan? Here's what I think. Rojas is an inexperienced manager who does not trust his gut. He sticks to the game plan. The game plan for Yamamoto was probably also four innings and Rojas stuck to it. That decision clearly worked as Yamamoto got through the third and fourth innings unscathed.
The question in my mind is: Does Rojas have the authority to trust his gut and stray from the script?
The manager has little to do with the success of a player. This whole thing about them not weighing in on success of the team is BS. His most important job is game management- who he takes out and when. And we have seen it first hand. The manager has so very little to do with the success of baseball team but it’s most of what people go on about.
On the lighter side, the Seattle Mariners' quest to sign every ambulatory ex-Met continues. They just signed Logan Verrett off the roster of the independent Cleburne Railroaders.
3 runs is pretty much the mercy rule for us right now. Other team scores 3 and we will lose.Once the game got to 5-0 yesterday they may as well have enacted the mercy rule. No way we were gonna score 5 runs. Now back home but only for a short stay before it's back out on the road. Rockies and then the hated Braves who got fat on the Pirates over the weekend. Desperately need to start getting some players back on the field. Of course Jake returns tomorrow but that won't do much good if we can't score more than a run or two. Tonight's starting pitcher is the now all too familiar TBD.
I thought Peterson was set to start tonight?Once the game got to 5-0 yesterday they may as well have enacted the mercy rule. No way we were gonna score 5 runs. These guys need to figure out how to be within 2 or 3 by mid JuneZack Scott giving updates:
Conforto and McNeil have significant hamstring strains. Late June is a possible return.
Carrasco maybe late June early July.
Lugo on track for end of month or June 1.
Thor still expected mid June.
What the Mets need to figure out is to go back to the basics/fundies. I know folks throw out data about analytics being the way the game is played, but when you can't even execute that, then what? Look at what this team has and build on that. This is a fast team that can't drive home runs but can run. Go back to small ball. Bunt, steal, execute a sacrifice, hit & run, among the little things you can do to try to jump-start the offense. These guys need to figure out how to be within 2 or 3 by mid June
Sandy Alderson will never allow this to happen, esp since Chilli Davis was fired because he wasn’t a fan of Analytics. REMEMBER the Mets were a decent hitting team last year as Davis being the hitting coach (and Sandy not around)... 🤔🤔🤔What the Mets need to figure out is to go back to the basics/fundies. The Mets need to take a long hard look in the mirror at themselves and be honest. I Listen to Rojas and the acting GM Scott, and neither are truthful with what they are doing to help the players correct some of the problems.
That's why I said the Mets leadership would never be truthful with themselves. They will impact the team more so than the team being completely healthy.Sandy Alderson will never allow this to happen, esp since Chilli Davis was fired because he wasn’t a fan of Analytics. den Dekker and Louwenhouse (whatever tf his name was) would be all stars with this group.Soup could bat clean-up for this lineup. Easily.
