And can Lindor do something to earn his billions. Hating that trade more and more with every passing feeble AB.

Can someone find the offensive numbers (2021) for the Mets pre and post Chili Davis? Something tells me it's worst now that Chili is gone, but the Mets will never say a word about it. The problems run deeper than Chili Davis, but he was made the scapegoat.

The Mets have one hit against a pitcher who has an ERA of 4.97 the season.

Here are a few stats for the Mets pre and post Chili Davis:

The Mets under Chili Davis through April: BA .231, OBP .318, SLG .349, and OPS .667
The Mets under new hitting coaches in May: BA .221, OBP .300, SLG .334, and OPS .634

Fish stink from the head down, so it ain't the hitting coaches.

Bottom of the ninth. If only we can get it to Lindor as the tying run. Just need one base runner. Just one.

You can't really compare the offensive numbers pre and post Chili. We basically have a AAA lineup in there at this point.

We got another 10 years of this guy after this year. After watching him play this season (~40 games), he does not seem to be just in a slump. He can't make contact or get the ball out of the infield. His contract is going to have ripple effects when it comes time to resign McNeil, Alonso, deGrom, Thor, Stroman, etc. It was going to be difficult to sign most of those guys with Lindor playing well, but without him playing well, we are absolutely screwed. We may have to have a GM who is savvy enough to trade Lindor with another player like Alonso (ala Cano and Diaz trade).

Wanted no part of that trade. Assumed zippo in October, but this is truly uncalled for.

I hear what you're saying, but the Mets' leadership won't take responsibility for their role in this. They threw Chili Davis under the bus. Went out and got Maybin and knew he had nothing left in the tank. Analytics have consumed the brass so much, they couldn't see Lucchesi was bucking the trend... for once. Meanwhile, Yamamoto gets rocked and you stick with him for two more innings. I read Yamamoto was experiencing minor problems which could have led to his rough outing. Now, Yamamoto may go on the IL. You were asking for trouble. The brass did that because they've micromanaged the bullpen to exhaustion.

GM Scott and Rojas give a ton of excuses. Sometimes you just have to admit the problem start with you and you must evaluate your shortcoming before attempt to fix others.

Is it wrong of me to speculate that maybe - just maybe - Lindor was taking some illegal substances in Cleveland? Can't help but wonder unless it's somewhat natural to go from a 30-90 player to an absolute nothing.......

I was wondering the same thing. now that he has his big contract, it is time for him to stop taking steroids.

Once the game got to 5-0 yesterday they may as well have enacted the mercy rule. No way we were gonna score 5 runs. Now back home but only for a short stay before it's back out on the road. Rockies and then the hated Braves who got fat on the Pirates over the weekend. Desperately need to start getting some players back on the field. Of course Jake returns tomorrow but that won't do much good if we can't score more than a run or two. Tonight's starting pitcher is the now all too familiar TBD.
deGrom should probably bat lead off tomorrow too.

Brooklyn Cyclones at Lakewood and Syracuse Mets at Trenton next week from June 1-6. Chance to see the future or maybe one of the sweet sixteen on the IL doing a rehab. Catching prospect Francisco Alvarez supposed to be promoted to Brooklyn by Tuesday. Great week for Mets fans in N.J. See you there. $$$$

Well you also have to realize those numbers in May are impacted by who is playing that wasn't previously. A better indicator is that the guys who were struggling before the change are still struggling (Lindor, McCann) or in some cases seemingly regressed (Dom, Villar)

Fargas and Yamamoto to the IL shortly.

They said they might wait until tomorrow to place Fargas on IL so might have a trade brewing.

The Mets talked a lot about having depth, but it's taking hits now. Lost a guy to Seattle and now a guy to Milwaukee. Meanwhile, a guy like Maybin has a spot for life. When the other guys come back from the IL, Maybin will clear waivers and have a spot in the minors. Why is the brain trust risking the loss of a younger guy at the expense of a washed-up guy?

Why? You think maybe he's pissed about hitting ninth?

Yeah, he probably is.
The minor league gave him enough run support to last several games. Now deGrom comes back to this dysfunctional team, and he might be lucky if they score one run for him. 🤣

Sandy Alderson is a curse to this team.

They would usually score one run for him when they are at full strength. In comparison, this lineup might not score a run in 30 innings.

Seriously, deGrom should not be batting ninth in this lineup.

Extra innings not coming back from commercial

Rockies broadcast. “Why are you shifting to pull with guy who throws 100mph?”
