You thought I hated Lindor in the fantasy postseason. Now he's zapping the lifeblood out of me with my favorite sports team.

Never have I ever saw a more inconsistent plate up. Would have sworn that was going to be a called third strike

Prefer Lee to Maybin even though they both look lost. With Lee he gets some experience while Maybin is over the hill.

I don't know what the hell is going on with this team but there seems to be a little bit of something positive happening. Get back our starters and if they are even close to their abilities- we could go on an historic 2nd half run.
This pitching staff may have a blooper here and there but from top to bottom- any given day, any one of them could be unhittable.
Even Luchessi has done very well his last two starts. Would like to see him stretched out but can't say he isn't giving us something now.
Familia is giving up base runners but he has been shutting it down pretty well. Diaz is money in save situations. The other guys all doing their jobs for the most part. Even with a bad outing here or there- they still come back and do well.

ICYMI, when asked why he didn't use either Castro or May in the final inning, Rojas said there's nothing wrong with either of them. He just wanted to give them both the day off.

Of the 12 position players on the Mets opening day roster, only four are on the roster now. Two of them are catchers. Another was signed as a backup. The fourth, who arrived with a superstar's rep and a contract to match, is riding the interstate.

How are they in first place? They can pitch (which we expected) and field (which we did not).

It’s encouraging and uplifting to see the Mets win given the injuries etc. However there are too many warts currently. The model that the Mets have right now in winning is not sustainable. You can’t keep winning 2-1 games and fielding a lineup of mediocrity. Law of averages will unfortunately prevail.
Mets need their regulars back soon and need them to produce. The so called stars currently in the lineup like Lindor ; Dom Smith; McCann etc need to carry the weight because you can’t keep relying on the bench squad to bail you out of games. Mets caught a break playing a horrible Rockies team this week. Can only hope the luck and positive vibes continue this weekend vs Atlanta.

I'm keeping very quiet here but I've been wondering. :)

Here’s a take that I will get RIPPED for. But since someone else here (probably jokingly) brought it up, shouldn’t Luis Rojas get some consideration for Manager of the Year. Yeah we have called him a bunch of names and the NL East is like the NFC East. But the battered and bruised Mets are in first place on MDW on his watch with deGrom, Stroman, and Walker pitching with the Syracuse Mets behind them. He would be getting love on the Dan Patrick Show if this was the Dodgers or Yankees.

I agree 100% with this. I always judge a manager partly, over 50% at least, by how hard the players play for him. Today, with the front office in most organizations calling most of the shots, keeping players focused and happy is most important. I think Luis does that. What they have been able to do with all these injuries is remarkable to say the least. I'm very happy with where they sit at the moment.

Rojas reminds me of the people who clip coupons and live off the savings. He is able to do so much with little. Scrap heap players, borderline MLB talents, no name heros etc etc…..

He's done a fine job mixing and matching and holding it together. But I disagree that the division is like the NFC East where nobody finished even at .500.
