Because they are playing the Bad News Bear, anything can happen. Why in the world would the third base coach send Lindor with the left fielder already in throwing motion?????

Cur the butt trumpetsIts time for Mr. Smith to go to Washington ( trade for a bag of balls). Can’t see him in the 8th inning.
Two outs. We don't know what the scouting report on the LF is. Often the LF is the LF because he has the weakest arm of the three. Why in the world would the third base coach send Lindor with the left fielder already in throwing motion?????
Well the batters didn't do much. Two scratch runs against a mediocre pitching staff. Hitting the ball in the air against an unforgiving wind all day. Started right in the first inning 1st and 3rd one out and Alonso fails to get him in. This Cubs team doesn't have much but if there's one thing they do have its a solid closer. Who I hope we might trade for.Who do we blame for the game today?
2 runs does not win many games. Smith is not to blame. Why does it have to be pinned on one player?I’m sure you guys will find someone, maybe more than one.
Sending him was a no-brainer with our lack of punch. Two outs. We don't know what the scouting report on the LF is. Often the LF is the LF because he has the weakest arm of the three.
If a MLB LFer can’t make THAT throw, he shouldn’t be in MLB. He was ready to throw when Lindor hit third. Should’ve been a stop right there and extend the inning. Two outs. We don't know what the scouting report on the LF is. Often the LF is the LF because he has the weakest arm of the three.
I take that back. LFer was ready to throw BEFORE Lindor hit third. ✋✋✋✋🛑🛑🛑🛑If a MLB LFer can’t make THAT throw, he shouldn’t be in MLB. He was ready to throw when Lindor hit third. Should’ve been a stop right there and extend the inning.
At least the Mets won 3/4. Should’ve been a sweep but keep winning series.
Why should it have been a sweep??? Mets won the first game decisively, and then played three that could have gone either way. When two of those three go your way, you can't expect much more than that.At least the Mets won 3/4. Should’ve been a sweep but keep winning series.
We had 2 hits in a row. How often do we get 3 in a row? Their guy made an accurate throw home ours didnt. If a MLB LFer can’t make THAT throw, he shouldn’t be in MLB. He was ready to throw when Lindor hit third. Should’ve been a stop right there and extend the inning.

What I'll say to that is when you get 3 well-pitched games by your starters the games shouldn't be the type that could go either way. Not with the starting pitchers Chicago rolled out there. Why should it have been a sweep??? Mets won the first game decisively, and then played three that could have gone either way. Here are some of the names I have heard associated with the Mets at 11 or 14OK time to focus on the draft - a topic on which I myself have not focused on at all. Any draftniks out there who can give us some names to watch?
Sure I would also. But just like management looking to upgrade the team I am not resting on 23 over 500 at the break. Way too many times have we crumbled after the break. Get me at least a relief arm. Don’t mortgage the future.Welp, they’re 58-35 at the All Star Break. I would’ve signed up for that back in March.
Thanks. I obviously know nothing of any of these players. I will only say that I am not fond of drafting an HS pitcher this high. Too volatile, too risky. Here are some of the names I have heard associated with the Mets at 11 or 14
Brock Porter, SP, Orchard Lakes St. Mary’s HS (MI)
Jace Jung, 2B, Texas Tech
Jett Williams, CF, Rockwall-Heath HS (TX)
Elijah Green, CF, IMG Academy (FL)
Daniel Susac, C, Arizona
Justin Crawford, CF, Bishop Gorman HS (NV)
Dylan Lesko, SP, Buford HS (GA)
But all this depends on teams above and who slips and who rises.
A lot of predictions have come in on Jace Jung. Early he was a top 10 pick but had a bad ending to his season and seems to be slipping. Theory is Mets could pick him at 11 and pay under slot to save money to spend on later picks.Thanks. I obviously know nothing of any of these players. Interesting. That would run counter to their recent strategy, which is to go over slot early, and then scrimp later by drafting college seniors who have no negotiating leverage.A lot of predictions have come in on Jace Jung. I'll give my thoughts after our picks. Mad covered some names. I'd like Crawford and a SP but we'll see. I'm fine with HS pitching.OK time to focus on the draft - a topic on which I myself have not focused on at all. Any draftniks out there who can give us some names to watch?
I'm willing to wager there is an AI software being "taught" right now to handle this. Guys being paid to drag crosshairs on a screen of players playing today/recently, and the AI takes measurements from the ground, waistline, shoulders, letters on the jersey, etc to come up with a best guess strikezone for each player. The problem with the electronic strike zone is the high strike. The width of the plate is fixed. Therefore, the robot umps are pretty much perfect at calling pitches on or off the corners. However, the top and bottom of the zone (particularly the top) can change from hitter to hitter. Haven't perfected that yet.
Doc Gooden said he was fortunate you didn't run the draft back then. 😁Thanks. I obviously know nothing of any of these players. I will only say that I am not fond of drafting an HS pitcher this high. Too volatile, too risky.
That's a surprise. Most had him in the 15-25 range. Texas drafted Jack Leiter last year.Kumar Rocker at 3 to Texas. This is a big jump moving many down 1 spot. He was protected at the highest 15. Maybe Mets see someone unexpected at 11.
Our 3 best stolen base threats were injured at one point ( Marte, Lindor, and Jankowski). Now that all are feeling better I’d expect to see more games like todaylove us running on the bases again. We seemed to have been missing the aggressive baserunning during our slump in June.
