Extremely happy with taking 3/4 from the Cubbies. We easily could have lost 3/4 to them. I know Chicago will be sellers at the deadline, but I don't think they'll that far away from flipping that record next season. Being 2.5 up at the break when many haters were thinking/praying Atlanta would over take us by now, with 3 at home against us, then off to play the NJ Generals for 4, lol. I'll take the 23 over .500 and will wait on Uncle Stevie to open his checkbook before the start of August. Open his checkbook, you have no idea how great that makes Mets fans feel after 60 years of Walmart shopping and budget.

If we take a college player I just want someone who can move thru the system quickly. If we take a high schooler just not someone who will still be at the Low A level 4 years from now.
So now do we use Alvarez as the center trade piece for Soto? How quickly can Parada be ready? Not sure I can handle Mazeika that much longer. I love the defense Nido brings but that is it. McCant? Talk to me when he breaks the Mendoza line.

If they move him to the outfield it makes more sense. I had not heard that. Losing Cro and Kelenic we really need OF prospect depth.
The player the organization feels is most likely to impact your team is the play. Not a certain position if you think someone at a different position is the better player.
And you don't win without pitching. There were some good pitching prospects available in that spot.
Pitchers are much harder to project than hitters because of the arm injury risks associated with them. I’d rather take a high end hitter round 1 and go with quantity on pitchers later.
