Baty hit his 2nd HR of the night. A grand slam and has 7 RBI for the night. Stud.

How could anyone not love Vogelbach. So easy to root for !
Kind of like him so far- big question though…let’s say we end up doing the Bosox trade, then did we just trade a good MLB ready arm for a lefty off the bench that if and when he gets on in late innings, we have to waste another player to run for him. And he would max at 1 AB per game as you couldn’t have him come off the bench to hit and stay in the game to play the field.

Answer is yes, with one caveat. IMO, jury is still out on Holderman. His body of work is still insufficient to demonstrate that he is a major league caliber talent. Early returns are certainly favorable though.

Wilmer Flores redoux anyone? Right-handed bat who is strong against LHP. Not the most gaudy b.a. but has put up 15 homeruns and driven in 55 in a part-time role. Went deep against David Robertson last night. Lots of position versatility as he can play all 4 infield positions. We know he has the knack for the clutch hit and can perform in NY.

Wouldn't hate to see him back here- type of player that champ teams have...

Giants are not selling, are they?

I remember this as it's been nearly 40 years. Amazing what humanity is capable of when it's color blind.
August 8, 1982.
A line drive foul ball hits a four year old boy in the head at Fenway. Jim Rice, realizing in a flash that it would take EMTs too long to arrive and cut through the crowd, sprang from the dugout and scooped up the boy.
He laid the boy gently on the dugout floor, where the Red Sox medical team began to treat him.
When the boy arrived at the hospital 30 minutes later, doctors said, without a doubt that Jim's prompt actions saved the boy's life.
Jim returned to the game in a blood-stained uniform. A real badge of courage.
After visiting the boy in the hospital, and realizing the family was modest means, he stopped by the business office and instructed that the bill be sent to him.
This is what a sports hero looks like!

A potential relief pitcher target just went off the board. Daniel Bard was just re-signed by Colorado.
