They are acting like the MKB is folding after the season so why not go for it all
I kind of think we are done for the day with trades. if so, Peterson is going to have to learn to pitch in high leverage situations late in games.
Perhaps not. Let's approach this from the starting point that JD Davis has no market value. Szapucki may have a little, but not much. So we're talking about two 2021 draftees, 7th and 16th rounders respectively.
I wouldn't give up yet. There are still some bullpen arms that can be had. Detroit and KC have some guys.
This is the positive spin. The negative spin would be these guys are upgrades but also one dimensional players and not difference makers on a team looking to win a World Series this year. More Kelly Johnson/Juan Uribe. Where is the Cespedes?

The parts added make us a better team. Team has good chemistry already and only losing JD off the roster. I guess we will see how the moves pan out in October.

Agree with you 100% on Vogelbach/Ruf being much better than Davis/Smith. Still need a BP arm but they definitely got better in the last week or so.
However, I do agree another closer would be nice. Don't think Tylor Megill is that guy.

JD has no market value. He is a DH who hasn't H'd in two years.

I’m sorry but not adding a reliever (or 2) and hoping that May and Megill come back healthy to fortify the pen is a recipe for disaster.
