Vientos was just on fire this week. He has some bat and his numbers after April are even better. Not sure what we're doing with him. He should have been up months ago.

I also added Josh Walker in the notables. He is fringe top 30 and might get a look in the pen soon. Possibly our LHP for next year or maybe even this year.

Vientos' problem is that there is only one roster spot for him. Previously Davis had it, and now Ruf does.

As we are going into this stretch to end the season- I realized that we may end up having the Phillies to than for this season.
The Met's deserve all the credit we get for playing so well and on pace for 100+ wins but...
Without the Phillies, we may had ended up with 100+ and still be in 2nd place

So interesting that they are 5-14 against the Mets, but are 29-13 against the rest of the NL East. When we are not playing the NL east, Phillies have single handedly been giving us an assist.

Major weather concerns the next 2 days I read.
More so today than tomorrow I think.

Both teams are off Wednesday; however, the Yankees are traveling to the West Coast for a trip that begins Thursday. They may be willing to reschedule a game for early Wednesday afternoon, if need be.

Yes I understand but that's what doesn't make sense. I can't get over that they didn't call him up before the deadline to see what they had.

Getting annoyed with Goldschmidt of the Cards- The curse of Met's MVP will most likely continue- we have 3 guys that could be up for it
Alonso
Diaz
Lindor

Though, it looks like Pete will most likely finish 2nd behind PG who is just having an amazing season - though, I always find it amazing that even for a potential HOF player like PG, that could all of a sudden have his greatest season ever and blow away his power number in their 12th season.

If that’s the case, those Philly nimrods better not say a thing when Juan Segura gets plunked for this (he shouldn’t IMO but they started that crap)

That did not rile me up as much as Acuna Jr. on the Braves.
You would have thought Segura hit a game-winning walk-off HR.
When they won the second game of the doubleheader on Saturday, you would have thought they won the World Series. But the Mets have so thoroughly dominated the Phillies, they were probably just happy to beat the Mets once. Would still prefer them to pass over the Braves for a wild card spot, but maybe there will be three NL East teams in the playoffs.

.340/31/100 - wow. Yeah, he’s got it in the bag at .340
I feel like that ex Cuse coach "Every f-ing year!" lol

I had been hoping he would slip- he has only gotten better as the year has progressed, or that Cards would just fall out of it.

This year most likely even locks up HOF for Goldschmidt.

Nimmo would become a Philly favorite. But, he has been very vocal about coming back to the Met's. Bassitt is another guy I would hate to see there with Nola and Wheeler.
I like Walker, but he is the guy that I wouldn't really cry over.
But if you guys stole all 3- you would have a completely different ball team.
Interesting enough, I almost feel that if the Met's start to get that feel that Nimmo isn't coming back- Cohen goes balls deep into the tax and offers Judge the world.

There's talk of Judge to the Mets? Yikes. That would be HUGE HUGE. Knowing Cohen's reputation he might do it just to stick it in the Yanks eye.

That would be historic.

Just random talk- still about 90% Yanks but...he will be asking to be highest paid player and most likely 7-8 years. With the "new" yanks- that may be too much for them. some whisperings that he was pissed off by their very weak public offer before the year.
I heard someone on the radio sum up that offer- Ellsbury/Hicks cost the Yankees $220 million. They offered Judge 230...

I would have put Met's at 0% with Judge since they now do have to very much sign deGrom, Diaz will become highest paid Cloder in history, etc...but, I do think that Cohen can be a very spiteful person and he has played by the rules with the other owners doing everything possible to block him- including the Cohen tax- and meanwhile, Dodger, Padres, etc are spending like drunken sailors.
I can almost see him do it just to spit in their faces.

And if he is open to break the bank and taxes, I would not be upset with it. I also think Judge would consider being surrounded by Marte/Lindor/Alonso very strongly

Never pay top dollar for a closer.

If you like the Mets players so much, just become a Mets fan. 😎 This way you can watch all these guys next season when they re-sign with the club.

That's no more rewarding than being a Phils fan.

Mostly both teams suck.

We each have our crosses to bear.

I think Alonso is probably also behind Austin Riley.

the 25 rbi's and 1st place vs 2nd place, has me leaning toward Alonso. But yes, Riley is in the convo
But also look at Lindor - more runs and rbi than Riley and is a beast in the field.

I do see Goldschmidt, Alonso, Riley, Lindor, Freeman, Turner all getting vote but I still see it, 1)Goldschmidt 2)Alonso then everyone else at this point but PG has a but lead out front

I can confirm that for you. HAhahaha
I bet you would love to have the shoe on the other foot. In first place and having other teams and fans just hate you...lol

At least the Met's are being hated because of their style of play and emotions on their sleeves. We could always be the Braves and just cry how unfair it is every time we lose.

A couple of players on the Braves need a couple of fastballs to the Ear Hole.

I hate the Philthies anyway. Just because they're the Philthies.

Why do you say that? Because they violate the "unwritten rules"? Your proposed punishment hardly seems to fit the crime. Especially since I do not think they are guilty of anything more than having fun and entertaining their paying customers.

What's it looking like up there a couple of hours before the scheduled game time?

I think you misread he said Braves need fastballs in th earhole- not our guys. He just agreed that our guys have become one of those annoying hate able teams. But, that was in response to me bringing it up and saying I like it. I actually think he means hateable in a respectful manor. but the head buzzer comment, was about the Braves- we can't disagree with that except one of them doesnt ever hit

No I read it correctly. I don't think the Braves are guilty of anything more than being annoying, which IMO doesn't warrant getting drilled.

That’s why I don’t hate the Phillies at all. When the Phillies win the Mets are usually pretty bad and when the Mets win the Phillies are usually pretty bad. I know the one year they knocked us out at the end so F them for that but otherwise no hate here. I have liked some of those Phillies teams like the Rose year when I was in college and the Kruk and Dykstra years. This years team is pretty fun to watch too .

Plus during college and even now it is much easier to get to Philly than Queens.

I will definitely disagree with that. No one deserves to get hit in the head with a 97 mph fastball because someone had their feelings hurt. Or maybe you don't remember what happened to Piazza? Or going way back Tony Conigliaro.

Does MLB blackout local games when both teams are local?
The only local blackouts at this time are:
ESPN Sunday Night
Apple Friday Night
Peacock Sunday Afternoon

Local blackout does not apply to this series. However, the Yankees have sold a.few.of their games to Amazon Prime, tomorrow night being one. It will be on SNY but not YES.
