Megill was a plesant surprise in April and contributed to the Mets great start of the season. But he's showing me nothing as a reliever.

You have to pinch hit vogey there. You just need to. Managing malpractice to leave a 20 year old in in this setting

Horrendous managing by buck.
-degrom only 6 innings/86 pitches
- Megill shouldn’t have come in at all
- Alvarez in two at bats too long against a righty

Need max tomorrow, but more than anything need 5+ runs

Naquin is a bum. Terrible swings every AB.
Had no issue with Alvarez up with bases loaded. He will be on post season roster so give him the experience. He was way too hyped for the AB. Unlike Naquin he’s not afraid at the plate.
The issue was Met Management not bringing Alvarez up sooner while languishing with Ruf.
Megill doesn’t stink it up and that whole 9th inning may have been different story.

Need to come out and score early. And not just a single run.

Jansen is not the pitcher he was in the past but not an easy guy to face if you haven't seen him before with that herky-jerky motion. Given that I thought Naquin battled.

A possible reason why Alvarez wasn't brought up sooner was that he missed three weeks with an injury, which slowed his development.

deGrom developed a blister, that is why he left the game.

Lack of Offense and Clutch Hitting is quite concerning. Had a chance in first inning and scoring only 1 run may come back to haunt us. Lord we miss Marte !

The Mets and Rutgers are painfully similar. Somewhat ok defense (pitching) but the most painful plodding awful offense out there. It’s been this way for so long.

I really thought the hitters would come out the gate blazing knowing how crucial this one is. Same old so far.
Bases loaded in 9th inning last night and bases loaded in 1st inning tonight and we only scored 1 run total. Offense has been lethargic for too long and At worst times

It all comes back to offense. We have none. They do. Pitchers are great. Need to hit the ball and get people across that odd shaped base near the catcher.

Inability to string hits together to keep the line moving. And the lineup has no length to it at all right now. And still the glaring lack of long balls. Home runs do matter.
