Hope we're not so shell-shocked from giving that lead right back that we flatline at the plate now.
Big four outs from May. Absolutely vital that the bullpen put up zeroes and give the offense a chance to regain control of the game. The failure of the starters has put a lot of pressure on the pen this series.
Lefty coming in but need to stick with Vogelbach. Even if he is bad against lefties. Too early to switch him out.

On the contrary I wish he could have been up sooner. I recognize that he got injured but he struggled initially at each higher level before getting it going. So I wish he could have an indoctrination period at the big league level before stepping into such big spots.
As the 4 seed mets will get the extra practice of 3 additional games before they have to play the dodgers who won't have that practice.

The Braves will have the bye and not have to face Dodgers until league championship . Meanwhile the Mets will have to play Phil’s, then Dodgers and then Braves to win league. BTW when is Marte coming back. ?
Such a friggen bummer. The Braves are just a better team and the Mets ran out of steam down the stretch. I’d rather lose the division by 10 games then this. Brutal
While their run producers have done that, ours flail at the ball from one knee in a spot to get a game changing hit. I say that with the understanding that McHugh threw a quality breaking pitch while Lugo served one up on a platter.

Every move should have been done differently. They brought him up too soon, he’s not ready. They brought him up too late, he would have gotten better faster if we jumped him up two levels or brought him up while he was ice cold at AAA. We didn’t give Baty the right locker. The Braves are definitely the better team. The Mets have an advantage at probably 3 positions and the Braves have better pitching and a better manager.
While I haven't conceded this game, I do plan to enjoy the wild card. Is there anyone in this thread who will not? I mean, it's not like the postseason is a routine occurrence for this franchise.
No, you don't see the difference. We have several posters venting on the same players day in, day out at nearly every freaking at bat. Worse than the football game day threads.
My post is a matter of a managerial decision. Why take out the hot hand for a minor league player who was 0/5 or 0/6 in a pressure situation? Makes no sense in the most important game of the season. Maybe Alvarez will blossom into a fine MLB player, but not the place to take out a guy who has been producing to try to catch lightning in a bottle. Sorry you don't see it my way.
Welp, the Mets had their chance to win the division and choked it away. Going to be a rough decade for the NL East and the Braves will continue to be the Braves 🤬🤬🤬
