No Conforto just had a bad year and is going to bounce back next season like McNeil has this season.

Dom is just not good. Davis is just not good.
Stats say otherwise. 256 career average over 7 years. You are what you are.

Francisco Alvarez will be our lone representative to the Futures Game this year. Full roster below if anyone is interested.

I can feel your pain. I often feel guilty raising my two sons, 36 and 33 as Mets fans. I've subjected them to a life full of baseball pain and disappointment, lol
Just thankful for '86 (a sports moment that will never be eclipsed in my lifetime). Send your sons my apologies - it's been tough enough for me even with that year, but still wouldn't trade my Mets-fanship for any other team.

Mets title drought is 35 years and counting. There are eight other teams with longer droughts. Without looking it up, how many can you name?

Why are you rolling out the comparison to Dom stats. That's not what my post was about. None of what you said makes Conforto an above average major league hitter his last 2 years with the Mets. They were very mediocre.
His last 2 years = 608 AB's- so let's call that a full year- .262 BA 92 R 32 D 23 HR 86 RBI .368 OBP

I'm not sure but it seems to make him above average, even in his last 2 years.
I kind of hate when facts get in the way of a good story

I hear the Vermont Teddy Bears are nice.

You da man! In order of length of drought:

1) Guardians/Indians - Last won 1948 - 73 years
2) Rangers/Senators - Never won - 61 years
3) Brewers/Pilots - Never won - 53 years
4) Padres - Never won - 53 years
5) Mariners - Never won - 45 years
6) Pirates - Last won 1979 - 42 years
7) Orioles - Last won 1983 - 38 years
8) Tigers - Last won 1984 - 37 years

To me the word above average =star player. Your boy was a guy who generally batted 3-5 in the lineup. If you think that stat line is above average or that of a star player relative to batting in that spot in the lineup then have it your way fella. Live your facts. I'm sure Eduardo Escobar probably had better stats during his last 2 years and I hesitate to think that any of you were labeling him a star.

This is an important series in that the Braves get the Nats over the weekend who will probably find it next to impossible to win a game against them. The Redbirds don't seem to be too interested in beating them either. I thought their schedule was supposed to be toughening up this month. Sandwiched by their series against us they get the Nats in two series.

As we were saying. . . . . 💣 💣 💣 💣

But in fairness, I will eat a healthy serving of not crow, but crow sheet for dunking all over Trevor Williams if he finishes strong tonight. .

And @tico brown - the jinx lives!!!

JD/McCann/JD/Williams/(Nimmo/McNeil) just being themselves- encouraging night

Marte has been raking - what a signing. Though, his legs must be an issue- not even going to get half the steals he had last year. But man- Love the guy.

Curious what our record is when McNeil is batting 7th or 8th- seems that is when we were winning the most early on

There is zero chance of this happening, at least not now. I don't mean it rounds to zero. I mean it's 0.0000000%.

Last off-season, Nimmo fired his agent and hired Scott Boras. Why? Because if you are preparing to enter free agency, Scott Boras is your guy.

Nimmo will test the market. I guaran-damn-tee it. Not saying he won't be a Met next year and beyond. Just saying it won't be now and it won't be cheap.

Don't say that to Conforto. That guy has lost tens of millions of dollars listening to his advice.

Not a fair comment. Conforto is unsigned because he got injured in the off season. That could not have been foreseen. Had it not been for that injury, he would have certainly signed a long term deal with someone. Whether that deal would have been better than what the Mets are alleged to have offered him, we will never know.

I find the injury interesting. Did it come out after teams started showing little interest? That's the cover story Conforto and Boras are sticking to so they can save face.
