Absolutely, couldn't agree more. Being a Red Sox fan and having the MLB Package
I get to watch most Red Sox games and have watched more than a few walk off wins
over the years.
In my dad’s last years he was honored at Fenway by MLB.
Unable to negotiate the dugout steps at his advanced age, he exited the field with assistance from the gate next to the 3rd base dugout and walked up the ramp surrounded by Red Sox fans.
Each step my dad took was greeted by row after row of standing, clapping Red Sox fans that brought Yogi to tears.
It ended up being a 30,000 fan standing ovation for a Red Sox killer/Yankee.

Unquestionably one of my dad’s more emotional and appreciative moments of his life.

Even though my brothers and I still obviously root for the Yankees….we are all Red Sox fans forever after that

That's a great story.

Jerry Remy told a story during a game a few years ago that the Red Sox dugouts were the furthest from
home plate than any other MLB park. When you struck out with men on base in a key situation during the game
you really caught it from the fans walking back to the dugout. You heard, ahem, some unpleasant things
about your mother, aunts, sisters or any family member. Ahhhhh, Fenway and Red Sox fans...

Why does every Boston/Yankees game have to be at night? Tomorrow is the 15,012 Sunday Night game between those two.
They have played 500 years of night games? Being sarcastic- but they do play a lot at night.

Before the game Fox introduced Judge as the
only Yankee ever to hit 30 home runs before
the all star game twice. Then they announce
he is leading off. Since when does being the
best home hitter warrants the lead off spot.
Who makes that decision?
It is such a strange thing that changed a few years back when the top hitter and even top power hitter starts hitting 2nd with the thought they get an additional 50+ AB's over a season.
All well and good but does that do anything beside pad their numbers? Best hitters should always be your 3/4/5 guys. Put them in a place to drive in runs and win games

You still want guys to get on base before the home run hitters. Solo home runs are not better then a few people on. Simple math. Judge after the first inning bats behind the worst hitters.
But solo home runs are better than not getting up at all. I'd rather have Judge leading off and batter behind our worse hitters than standing in the on deck circle as the lead off hitter or #2 hitter grounds out to end the game.

WTF...Taillon?

6-2 not big enough?

Tonite is a fvcking circus of ineptitude.

In what world does a 2nd baseman call off the outfielder...not once but twice?

Worse...it's against the BoSox.

Hopefully on Monday, I read that the NYY have given Chapman his unconditional release.

Strangely enough, Judge and Carpenter are not in tonight's starting lineup.
Boone continues to wanna fight with one hand behind his back.

Judge just got an off day yesterday. This is certainly not just a rest day... I hope he's doing okay.

Judge is probably not 100% healthy so they are managing his games going into the All Star break. Carpenter is an old fart that probably needs some time off every once in awhile.

We have a double digit lead in games. I'm pretty sure we'll survive this one.

I remember Freddie Hill batted Todd Frazier lead off. He wanted his best hitter to get the most at bats possible. b

I would have considered pulling Homes after the 3rd batter in the inning; and certainly after the 4th. It so clear that he had no clue where the ball was going. We've seen Boone do that with Chapman after walking 3 straight batters in the past.

I'm curious, did Holmes not have it in the bullpen before coming in? If he was THAT far off, should he have known and said something? It wasn't like there was a ton of adrenaline flowing with a fresh inning and 3-0 lead.

@zappaa - Maybe you could share some insight... do you know if relievers will say something if their mechanics are off/ they just don't have it when warming up? Thanks.

I think we can give Holmes a pass for this one based on what he's done for the NYY this season.

But I agree, this was Chapmanesque.

Bullpen blew the last three games. I just hope it's more a bump in the road than an actual trend.

If Trevino gets the ball out of his friggin glove in the ninth the game would have been over----3-2 Yankees.
Sorta like a play Donaldson didn't make....struggling to get the ball out of his glove vs. Boston that cost them a game over the weekend.
Frankly I was pissed pretty much the whole night because the Yanks didn't add on to their 3-0 lead. Oh well, at least Judge and Carpenter got some rest.

This team has shown a few weaknesses in the last week.

I realize they can't probably maintain pace they dis for the first half, but they're not playing well right now.

And if Severino is on the shelf, go get a guy like Hendricks from the Cubs.

There are a number of options in house.

Loaisiga and Luetge.
And can someone explain why Carpenter isn't in the lineup ?

Similarly, why is Gallo still in the middle of their every day lineup? There just has to be better options.
