While I understand the meat of the Mets order was due up the 8th inning, I still don't bring in Holmes to pitch the eighth inning on the road, Especially when he can only go one inning leaving you Peralta to pitch the ninth.
I think we just witnessed what the loss of Michael King means.

I fully expect to see an acquisition like David Robertson by Saturday.

Gallos on the sale rack in front of Yankee stadium
Gallo can’t hit weak pitching, 4th starters or 2nd liners from the bullpen when the starter is knocked out early….that renders him useless.
There are boatloads on minor leaguers who would perform far better.
Lasko would be better right NOW….a lot better.

You think he gets DFAed?

The two games we lost to Houston hurt worse, but nothing is more embarrassing than losing two to the clown show from Queens.
They're celebrating in the Mets thread like they just won the World Series. But I don't know any baseball fan that would have gotten excited had the Yankees taken the two games.
Edit....well maybe a few Braves fans.

As said above home run or bust, failure to advance runners, not capable of hitting with runners in scoring position, this is magnified when you play teams like the Astro and Mets or really any team with a strong pitching staff.
The Yankees are unlikely to get out of the American league playoffs, and really wouldn't be shocked if they blew their 10 game lead in the second half.

109% correct- Astros are the biggest concern(at this moment) series was much more important to the Mets, and not just as a subway series.

Seriously, can Gallo be any worse?

At this point, Boone is just trying to embarrass him.

I can't think of any other reason he was in Thursday's lineup.
There's no one that I can think of who would take him except maybe the Twins that like taking retreads.

But NYY are gonna take a beating on eating salary if they can find a sucker.

No Yankees fan or reporter is going to be mad at the Yankees if he gets picked up after they cut him. Besides I'm sure most deals will not bring back anything and the Yankees paying most of the salary.

Read that Texas interested to bring him back home. He needs a smaller market

I can't believe that Joey Gallo is not in the starting lineup for tonight's game.
Is he in Boone's doghouse or something ?

Royals suffered a third straight shutout Thursday.
Cole looks to make it four on Friday.
Disappointing from Yanks ace tonight. I loved how he struck a guy out and walked off the field thinking there were three outs. There were two.
Judge is incredible. The Mets fiasco seems so long ago. That catch on the first batter tonight was awesome.
Pay the man.

I have to say- for the past few years- I always said I would love to see Judge have a completely healthy year to see what he would do- Wow, guy is having a year that is just beautiful to watch.

Doesn't it always seem that players with a history of injuries have an injury-free/great year in the last year of a contract? Amazing.

On the other hand, there's always those who suffer the Chad Green situation in a contract year.
Judge has to stay healty for the balance of the season. And frankly I worried when he landed after making that homer-stealing catch in the 1st inning last night.
