Invited to wedding in Aguadilla on north-west coast of PR in May. Anyone familiar with the area? Aguadilla has its own airport but flights are limited from NYC area airports. Could land in San Juan but that's a couple hour drive away. Just going to make a long weekend out of it.

Suggestions?

Fly to Saint Martin direct. Take 20 minute ferry to Anguilla

You can take United to Aguadilla from Newark, all flights are red eye but you will get over it.

Like said above, lots of flights to Aguadilla from Newark. And cheaper.

Rafael Hernández Airport. We stayed just south in Rincon. One of the top surfing spots in the world. The surf shop on the beach had a poster showing surfers riding a 60' wave. Wave size is dictated by weather patterns coming out of the states. When we were there the beach didn't even have a ripple.

Right by my favorite place - Ann Wigmore Institute in Aguada. If you have a little time go check it out - raw food/wellness center on the beach - it will totally reset your body depending on the amount of time you spend there.

Medalla beer and Mr. Mofungo! I had the good fortune to work in PR for 3 years building a biotech facility in Manati. Spend plenty a Saturday at Rincon. The surf can be pretty rough during the winter months. The area used to be dotted by paradors some 25 years ago, but I understand more luxury resorts have been built. The airport you describe used to be managed by the U.S. Military at Rincon.

Also Heineken beer is the real full European strength, unlike the American version, so make sure to try that as well as it does taste better than what we get here.
