OT: Real Estate Question - Toms River/Brick and area

kind of hate I had even asked about the area for moving...lol

Anyway- to the new part of the thread- The group in question is not about their religion except they use it to hide behind.
These are hard core business men. And I freely use "men" instead of business "people". It is very similar to Hedge fund take-overs. Except, even Hedge funds have to play by some rules.

Anyone talking about how a town or "their" town, being taken over, is not talking about the Jewish Religion. They are talking about a horrible group of men that do worse than suppress their women and have a business plan to do hostile takeovers without care of any man, woman, child and or Religion, that gets in their way. This group is equally harsh against Jewish people as they are against anyone else.

And yes, for those like "Tom" - who defend them, every resident has the right to be very upset at any group that purposely drive down property value and way of life in their town.

Not to speak for Tom- but I think his point is that they're following the law and rules of capitalism like everyone else.

There is nothing- nor should there be legally speaking- to stop any group, religious or otherwise, from moving in and become a dominant demographic anywhere in America. And I say this as someone with no religion.

IF people are breaking the law, in this country we resolve that in court. Now, I think a lot of people will say that the politics surrounding of that are questionable- OK! We need to vote then.

People make fun of "vote harder" but I can tell you...in both NY and NJ they are a kingmaker group and they will go with either party if they see a pol is responsive to their needs.

So here is my suggestion for people in Rockland or Ocean or wherever...vote...and bring people opposed to what's going on into the process. Because the other side is going in and has voting rates of 80%+.

Personally I have a big beef with the fact that NJ pays for private school busing. We wouldn't be paying for gender segregated busing in Lakewood BTW if, for example, all private school parents gave up busing....I haven't seen anyone volunteering for that here, but I'd sign up tomorrow. At the federal level, you have RLIUPA which is very generous in terms of building houses of worship for all religions. I'd pare it back- are others going to be OK with that when it comes to their house of worship? My house of worship being on River Road with a big block R, I won't see the effect, LOL.

Everywhere I ever lived in life, you look at the demographics, they change, and people there before resented it. Here in JC, a former mayor slammed people moving in as "interlopers." My neighborhood was historically Puerto Rican, Italian and Polish...now it is Asian plurality. Rutgers and NB, forget it- I was there during GS 1.0, and it's different. The town where I grew up was a lot of Reform Jewish Americans- now it's heavily Asian and most of the Jewish community is from the former USSR. Things change. The beautiful thing in NJ no matter who buys you probably made a lot on your home! I think some of it like "the member berries" from South Park. At least in my lifetime Lakewood was always Lakewood as it is today.

Assimilation and making it better.

Do that and these threads never happen.

So let me understand this- you guys think I am wrong because I feel people are allowed to buy a home wherever they want. Also, that I look at people as individuals and do not type cast them all into a group that I should hate?

Are you saying that the 6 Orthodox families that moved into my neighborhood and have been nothing, but good neighbors deserve for me to treat them with derision and hatred because of how other Orthodox people act?

Side by side comparison of Pikesville and Lakewood demographics. What do you see?
Population in Pikesville looks pretty consistent right?

Pikesville census is nothing like the Lakewood census. Also big difference between what you say as most orthodox towns in America and fastest growing “untra orthodox” community in the world.

Did I say Pikesville and Lakewood were the same?

Weird how you look like a fool when you jump to conclusions.

I pointed out my time in pikesville because it also has a heavy orthodox community and I understand these people. But yet here you are still just whining about the Jews.

Jesus was a Jew, you’ll have some explaining to do when you meet him one day. He ‘knows’ your identity and you won’t have your anonymity to shield you😉

They look and dress ‘different’ and some have politics that the usual suspects on this board like to whine about. Therefor they aren’t welcome.

Didn’t you know with maga if they don’t like you they feel like they can just kick you out? Here it is right in front of you

Again resulting to name calling. There is a huge difference between Orthodox Jews and ultra orthodox and Hasidism. Again you’re the only one whining. It seems normal for you. Because you do it in most of your posts where you resort to race baiting. You jumped to that conclusion. No one on this thread mentioned an issue with the religion. It is the groups abusive tactics and political manipulation they resort to. But you know that because you lived next door to a Jew once and know them extensively.

If you know anything about the Lakewood Jewish community that they are ultra right and make MAGA look like AOC.

But again your speaking of what you do not know.

Actually, the Orthodox and the group in this thread complaining about them are the same politically- at least on the presidential level.

As I stated in an earlier post, I am a heathen with very liberal social beliefs.

The overwhelming number of Jews in Lakewood are Orthodox not Hasidim.

I know. But your cohort has no idea. Lakewood is not mainstream orthodox like he spoke of in the Baltimore suburb. Lakewood is Mostly ultra orthodox and sprinkles of Hasidic.but as you know this discussion was never about religion. It was about the massive population increase. 200% on one town in 30 years is the issue. That has now folded into surrounding communities.

I have no idea about that town, but they are not Jared Kushner Orthodox. Although I am sure there are some Modern Orthodox in Lakewood.

Maybe my neighbors are Modern Orthodox.
Not sure. But most especially those they call “pioneers” that are leaving the confines of Lakewood proper are Ultra Orthodox. Especially those settling in Howell and Jackson. I have worked with many Lakewood Orthodox in business and politics/fundraising for many years. I know the area and demographics very well. Many of the more “modern” tend to go the larger house/land route in Toms River.
