It is amazing the $$$$ we have to pay out and accept as normal as we live in New Jersey.
Beach fees and tolls are two prime examples. Why do so many states have freeways with no tolls? Their major interstate roadways have no tolls. Roads built and improved with no tolls. Federal government funded.
For many years, I used to operate the fire engine that provided a spray for the runners near the corner of Lake Como (I think it was there).
I mentioned in past posts I was going to Rutgers Newark prior to transferring to New Brunswick. I certainly remember those days off Washington Street and taking a bus from home 4days per week. The campuses are under trespass… the campuses have condoned the harassment of a specific group of students know as Jews. So the theory that you claim is skewed more than somewhat. Yes, many outsiders…. many former radicals from the 80’s - 90’s who were taught by anti American professors.Now their spawn has helped this new attack on DEMOCRACY.

So much wrong in so few words.
Those "services" aren't available to anyone in the offseason because they don't exist in the offseason. We " locals" pay the same price as anyone else. We get no special treatment.
Who would you suggest pay for maintance, lifeguards, garbage collection, extra police needed when a town doubles or triples in size during the Summer, and on if there was no charge.

One of the worst burns I ever got was at the 5K.
My daughter's First Communion was the next day. Very painful wearing a suit and tie.
Remember my first spring lake 5. Was mangled the night before. Buddy registered our whole group so we ran it even though we all felt like shit. He was the only one that knew it was 5 miles versus 5k.
We were all at bar A afterwards wondering why the 5k felt so long.
I was doing it the right way. Sitting in the front yard of a home on Ocean Ave, with a beer in my hand then an all day party in the back yard.
I wouldn't run that far. Seems like way, way too much effort. 😄

I have seen 2 U-Hauls so far today. Usually winter rentals have to be out (15th) today so I figure there'll be a lot of moving in over the weekend.
Drove by last week and door was open and lights on. Looked like there was activity/cleaning up.
I stop by there once, maybe twice in the summer. If I have a real hankerin for a pie, I hit the Squan. Half onion, half black olive.
Went to Squan on Thursday. One plain and one sausage and pepper well done.
It says Black Olive on the menu so that's what I'm goin with.
Hadn't been to Pete and Elda's in years, and met a group there a few weeks ago. Fantastic.
