Pitt selling Joe Knew shirts for their game against PSU

Many Maryland fans are wearing those "Joe Knew" shirts up to PA. That should be interesting.

Hey @TheB1GTerp, let us know if you need any of these flags to go along with those shirts?

LOL how did you manage to get one of them taking a pic? Was she one who whined to Barchi?

I don't understand the point to such a tshirt. It's like wearing a tshirt that says, "Water is wet," or, "The Sun is Bright". It's just so obvious.

It is obvious. But it annoys the State Penn fans which is the whole point. As much as I despise them, I personally wouldn't wear one.

Fortunately, cooler heads seem to have prevailed here. Hopefully that's the case in 16 days as well - the noon kick will help - but I guess we'll see.

I guess if you don't have enough pride in your own school this is the type of thing you would wear. If they are dumb enough to wear one, I hope they bring something else to wear because they won't be allowed in the stadium with them on. I bet the type of people who would wear them will then be the morons who complain about having their first amendment rights violated. They would be to ignorant understand what the first amendment means.

I don't understand why anyone would wear shirts that (a) make light of child abuse in any way and (b) draw attention to yourself in a situation where you'll be outnumbered and people will be drinking heavily. Fights happen too often at sporting events as it is; I don't see the need to provoke one.

With the rise of violence in our society and too much alcohol to fuel it, wearing anything that can elicit an attack is just plain foolish.
Fans get physically attacked for simply wearing their teams colors, etc.

Joe Paterno was a complete scumbag, but I would not wear the shirt. You're not going to convince anyone in State College that he knew kids were being raped with his knowledge and no one outside of State College needs convincing. So what's the point?

Agree with this. This shirt would not change the cultists' minds, but instead feed into their sick persecution complex.

I'd wear it and wear it proudly. The more people do, the more people throw it in their face, the more it becomes the reality that these 'head in the sand' imbeciles cannot fight

Don't think (a) is making light of child abuse, only saying Joe knew about it happening and who was the pervert doing it.
(b ) I agree with and would be putting yourself in harms way wearing it at Beaver stadium. Also think whoever wears something like that in Happy Valley, won't leave that place happy that they wore it

c> even wearing that shirt or something like it in a stadium hosting the Nits would be subjecting yourself to possible attacks from Penn St fans, especially those who might be fueled by alcohol.

(d) No matter how I feel about the cult of Joe, wearing that shirt at any football game Penn St is playing isn't showing good sportsmanship and sportsmanship needs to be part of the enjoyment any game any of us plan to attend.

(e)Not all Nits are assHats and they don't deserve the disrespect wearing that shirt at one of the games they attend . Friendly smack-talk should should be the interaction and should be in good natured fun , not because someone feels the need to be petty when they talk to an opponent's fan. Even if that person is a fan of Penn St because most Penn St fans are pretty good people once you get away from the cult members
