That roll to the right and throw to back in the flat is a staple in this type of offense. Laviano cannot miss those. He wasn't even close on the 2nd down play there.

well....we knew special teams need work, too. It used to be a strength but like everything else under what's-his-name it fell apart.
I was thinking...man do they look bad in swinging their arms prior to the kickoff.....

As much as I was hoping for a good game today, I was afraid of this:
-The clean up of Flood's mess on many levels
-Playing against a top 20 type team
-Flying 3000 miles for first game of the year
-New offense, new defense, new specials, new staff, etc
Lets hope that the coaches and players learn and improve from this for the rest of the season.
Why? I'd expect Ash to do the same thing if roles were reversed.
Yea the coaching has been horrible. Mehringer has to know if you NEVER throw deep, screens won't do much for you. Embarrassing on that 2nd and 20 play

Let me get this straight, we didn't go for the early FG and instead went for it on fourth down because Ash wanted to prove something. But, on 3rd and 26, we run for it on a draw play (and pick up 10) ... instead of throwing and trying to get a first down. How does that figure?
