if you don't think Sarah, BC, and Temple wouldn't beat the team last Saturday, you are sorely mistaken. I doubt we win all 3 of those and not because of the guys in red but because Ash and company had a miserable first showing.
this coming from a guy that won't let his kids accept a scholarship to BC because I loathe and detest that institution so much:)
First, PSU shouldn't be included in that group. Second, you need some momentum before you even whisper beating the T2 consistently. Look at the OP. How in the hell is a team starting those kids even supposed to compete with UM and OSU?
Take a look at Iowa' starters and offers.....best two players Desmond King and Bernhard have horrible offer lists. Third best or at least one of their better players the RB from Newark also ad a horrible offer list. ,Since 2012, their recruiting has been 2 stars, 3 stars and a sprinkling of 4 stars..... how is PSU expected to compete against them?
Wisconsin is similar, maybe a few more 4 stars, in fact, 3 starters from last years were walkons and now play in the NFL.
Go back and check the offer lists of PSU starters or near starters.... Noah Beh, Ewan Schwan Brandon Bell, Jason Cabinda

I got news for you, Flood's classes were not inherently different from Gary's. We do not have a talent issue that warrants what we saw on the field last Saturday. This team was not prepared, the schemes were God awful, the lack of adjustments made were mind boggling, the coaching decisions were awfulI'm speaking strictly from a recruiting perspective. If the median recruit in each class has offers from BC, Hofstra and Delaware, RU will continue to lose to the Washington's of the world by 30.
Not sure your point. Put Iowa and Wisky over in the East and let me know how they do. Also, Ferentz was dead man walking a few years ago.
There are always going to be an ARob and a Nassib but stars matter. You're proving my point by bringing up some of those PSU guys.
If you want to buy into the diamond in the rough philosophy, go right ahead. Personally, I do not.

you guys are in denial
first game jitters? I'll give him to 3 games before we label him one way or the other but he is 0 for 1 in the count and I'm not talking scoreboard
I prefer a qb on a 5-5 team that only had 5 wins cause of the qb than any blue chip out of a top program. I prefer the same in a coach. Coaches are supposed to use the resources they have, abilities of the players they have etc and build winners. Ash can put in place what he wants but if he doesn't have what he wants now, he should mold the team to adjust to what he's gotI agree, wholeheartedly.
Because this question of whether it's better to be a proven Head Coach at a MAC school, or the Top Assist at tOSU, is an very interesting question, with regards to whom you hire.
Coach Ash is used to well funded programs with long histories of excellence.
As opposed to getting a Coach that understands how to build a program given a dearth of resources, recruits, etc.
If Syracuse beats Louisville. . .

he did not do this on Saturday so it's fair to look at his 'coaching' with a crooked eye somewhat. It's early yes but what a miserable first display
Agreed, and the true test of a Chef is what he can do with what he's got in the fridge. Yeah it's great if a Chef can prepare Foie Gras, but let me see what you can do with an egg.
and honestly, I'm not surprised by Saturday's debacle. Our Coach looked like he's in over his head.
and I'm definitely not buying this Ash gets three years crap.
we'll know midway thru this year what we've got in Coach Ash.

Well flood recruited Heeman, Applefield, and Cole who seem to actually be better than (or at least as good as) guys from Schiano's vaunted class like Brodie (obviously), Muller, and Denman.
So now Iowa and Wisky can't compete against OSU and Michigan or MSU, I assume that's what you meant by pit them in the East and see how they do........ Really?
Can they compete against PSU ? Maybe you should check the Iowa vs PSu series since 2000, including 5 straight victories from 2000-2004.....that's pre-scandal.
How is PSU going to do against Pitt and it's 2 and 3 stars?
Or maybe Seymour is just really good...the fact that Seymour converted from D-line to O-line, and in less than a week, he cracked the two deep at RT. . . tells you pretty much where we're at on the O-line.
Ash needs to make this happen. He's got to get talent here.
I became a maniac RU FBall fan starting in 2000 what I got out of college. Why does it feel like if Ash can't turn RU into a contender, it won't in our lifetime? Anyone else feel like this? We just won't compete getting guys who's only other choice is mid majors.

someone did in another thread albeit, not a full 6Can someone pull up the last six recruiting classes, so we can settle this one way or the other?
I usually record the game and watch plays a few times in slow motion, looking off the ball at coverages, the line, etc. Figuring out the blown assignment, who's out of position, and so on. After the PAC12 streaming fiasco, I can't really comment on much...someone did in another thread albeit, not a full 6
nothing about the coaching and prep comments huh?
let's just blame talent, hell even mushmouth in the booth couldn't understand what schemes were employing and talked about the coaching 'mistakes'
