Just booked a car through Priceline and am afraid that I overpaid since my first bid was accepted. Avis accepted $25/day (doesn't include taxes and fees) though most car rental sites had between $55-$61 for economy cars/day.

So just a fyi, start your Priceline bids lower.

Is it red ???

I always use kayak to find my rentals. They are usually the cheapest, by far.

This was less than half of kayak's lowest. My point was to show that I got $25/day on first bid so others should try even lower.

Kayak was showing $61/day.

You got a great price my friend.
I am paying $75 per day for a small SUV in Seattle.
The Airport Fees and User fees and local/state taxes are out of control on Airport Car Rentals. I guess Cities don't mind screwing the Tourists as a way to increase tax revenue ( and pay for local Stadiums)

You got that right. 2 days of rental for the car totals $50. Taxes and fees = additional $37. It's still less than paying round trip super shuttle and the train seems like a hassle that takes 5 times longer to get to downtown area.

For my $75 per day rental from Hertz only $35 goes to Hertz. $40 per day is for Seattle Airport fees, concession fees, and local taxes, What a f....ing ripoff these Airport Car Rental BS fees are at Seattle.
