Stephen Curry - Maishe Dailey: Who Knows?

Davidson has a real coach, Curry could already shoot, and he actually developed as a player there. He has a better chance of becoming Steph Curry if he goes to Davidson. If he can't shoot now, he sure as hell isn't going to learn how to do it at RU.

Nice detailed discussion.

Grew 3 inches junior year.
Was injured last year wasn't able to showcase himself.
Can play PG.
Wisconsin really thought he went under-the-radar.

I haven't seen Maishe Dailey play but the fact that Maryland, Michigan, Wisconsin and other B1G programs were recruiting/monitoring him should make you feel pretty good about this pickup.

It's not like he only had interest from one HM program and all other interest/offers were MM & LM.

Rutgers may have a steal here

Not saying he will be the same player necessarily; but his game reminds me somewhat of former Ohio St. and Milwaukee Bucks, lefty sharpshooter Michael Redd.

Has the height needed for his position. Could run a true 3 guard set with kids in the 6 4 range at times. Known as a 3 pt shooter, but I'd be more impressed with a strong driver. Still, he might be able to open up the floor.

Jahlil also looks okay. Seems to be more of a driver than a shooter, and I like that. The trend is the 3 pt shot, but driving is always more efficient.

Until we win games, we won't be landing anyone amazing. Practice facilities?Needed, but we need a coach and team that can win. Moreso a coach. A decent coach can take a mediocre team and make them average.

I like the two pickups. Dailey can pass as well, and seems to have a good head on his shoulders. Jordan job lays on how well Sanders,Freeman, Laurent,Foreman, and Williams can do. I see potential, but rebounding has to be a part of practice, lol.

Read on ESPN that Jahlil is more of a vertical athlete than lateral. Meaning that he has explosion to the rim but not so much going side to side on defense. Sounds like he's more accustomed to playing on the frontcourt defensively. Being that he's 6' 5" he'll have to improve on lateral movement to play in the backcourt, in addition to adding a more consistent outside shot. ESPN also adds that he has decent ball handling ability to go along with body which is high-major ready.

I think he could pull it off over time. At least, it seems, that we'll have no issue with his effort. He looks like he goes all-effort. Just a shame that he isn't playing this year.

No doubt. Thanks for the breakdown. I bet he is around 6 4. A lot of these numbers are fibbed. When I saw him on film, it looked like he could lose a little weight. Just 3-5 pounds to make himself lighter. His bal handling ability looks decent. I didn't know he wasnt playing this year. Because of the injury from a gun shot?

The PSAL (the high school sports association of NYC) said that he used up all his eligibility. Tripp appealed but was denied by the PSAL. His family is now seeking a Supreme Court ruling. But at this point in the season, it might be too late.

Thanks for the info. That is strange. I hope it doesn't effect his eligibility for college. Are you from the area?Have you seen him play live by any chance?Seems like he does a lot on the court. I am not a huge fan of guards rebounding but the heart is definitely there.

Sorry. Have never seen him in person. But it makes sense that he has little exposure considering the injury and not playing this year. This would've been the year to really showcase himself. I think his eligibility is fine. Read that he is pretty much graduated already and just sticks around Lincoln to finish off the last bit of his requirements.

Part of an interview from Jay Gomes Rivals pay site.....

NJ Hoops: What other schools offered scholarships?

MD: I had 23 scholarship offers. My first was from High Point in July. I also had offers from Akron, Northern Iowa, Akron, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Illinois State, mid majors almost all of the MAC and Missouri Valley.

NJ Hoops: Did you visit any other schools?

MD: I took unofficials to Duquesne, Michigan, Dayton

NJ Hoops: How were those visits?

MD: They were good. At Michigan I went to the football game.

NJ Hoops: What school was the first to reach out to you?

MD: Illinois State towards the end of my junior year.

Yuck. I hope this is wrong.
