Love ya too ☺️

We need all of the above 😀

To be a 5-7 win program we can stick with the status quo.

To make a run at Ohio State, Penn State, and Michigan occasionally, we need a Fieldhouse

To be consistently competitive with everyone in the Big 10, we need to add NIL to the Fieldhouse.
What your obsession with fieldhouse? Penn State is nothing special. Not much different than what RU had.

I sometimes wonder if Schiano's ideal Super Bowl qb performance would be Trent Dilfer vrs the Giants. 12 of 25. 153 yds. 1 td. 0 turnovers.
It absolutely is.

The coaching left a lot to be desired this year. Where's all the posts supporting the enormous contract OC received?

Are you expecting to lose Allar this year? Who is going to step in for him?
No he has said he is staying. If they didn’t change OC he probably was. Apparently there was a personality disconnect between the OC and players. Nothing set in stone till the new OV is named. Pribula he is same class a Allar but redshirted so has 3 years left. He was two time PA player of the year and was a 4 star recruit. He more of a dual threat qb.

1) Stonewalling. This topic is ridiculous. This isn't worth acknowledging. I won't be bothered disputing this.

2) blameshifting. He is not accountable for his performance. If someone else was better, he would be better too. He didn't do his job because someone else didn't do their job. If you donated more, he would be more accurate

3) gaslighting. You don't see what you think you see. Those numbers don't mean what you think they mean. You obviously are looking at it wrong because he was recruited and chosen to start.

4) shaming. You're a terrible fan and an even worse human being. If you werent so cheap GW could make the throws our local div 3 qbs make at a high %.

5) insulting. You're obviously too stupid to see the big picture. You evidently never played a sport in your life.

6) goalpost shifting. Expectations will consistently be lowered to account for poor performance while acting like it is all according to. plan.

Any post showing a belief that the birthplace of college football deserves average qb play will result in the GW forum defense force being deployed. Resistance is futile.

The NIL has not changed things so much that the program can't have average qb play. Programs with less have more at the position.

We are already being told to expect a 50% completion rate next year in year 4 of the GW experiment. This is "good enough". 6 wins is an acceptable goal. The prpgram should accomodate our 50% passer rather than expect more. If you think this is problematic, see 1-6 above....

Al is a silly fan boy. He lacks insight, isn't capable of providing an objective perspective, and will consistently defend mediocrity. He loves the goalposts constantly and I honestly don't think he can engage in an discussion without NIL and Fieldhouse as his crutches.

I have nothing against him - this os what his posting history illustrates - but it's tiring.
have you actually ever watched his video's- they are usually very even to both teams. If you don't understand Al and or his posting style yet, you most likely never will. And that may be a shame for those that don't.

My point- you guys were complaining about him in his 2nd year- I assumed you must be ready to move on from him on his 3rd year then...

And if you read what you just posted on the negative side- it is almost exactly the same- you are gaslighting in a very negative sense.
There is usually something in the middle. But the far extremes on both sides like to think that everyone that doesn't agree with them is an idiot.

If he is the starting quarterback next season then that will be a position of weakness for Rutgers again next year.

lol so true. I mean wasn’t 4 weeks ago he was claiming Rutgers will be passing up Ohio State and Michigan. But right now they don’t have enough talent to keep up with Maryland.
Four weeks ago we were thinking about possibilities. This week we’re dealing with reality.

You mean the game plan was to play not to lose but never ever playing to win. Cannot overcome a 5 yard false start ? Are you kidding me ? Running on 3rd and 12 ? Besides the fact this was coach Joe’s worst game plan of the year , Kirk and Greg did not try to take the lead and win the game. Get that thought threw one’s head.
The coaches understood our limitations so they sought to minimize point differentials. This will make it easier to recruit because they have tangible results to sell.

IE: Last year we lost to Penn State 55-10
This year the margin was 27-6

Going bowling will help us recruit the ‘25 Class.

You know a good player when you see one I know.
Production is reduced and harder to come by when the supporting cast isn’t great, but you’ll always come away saying “that kid can play”
When Iowa took away Kyle, we were sunk, we had no answer because the coaches knew there wasn’t an answer.
Simon says there was an answer. He threw for 300 yards last year against Iowa, how would he have done this year with a better OL and a year older. Unbelievably we didn't even try a series or two.

Simon threw to WRs Cruickshank, Jones, and Ryan last year. Did not have the same talent this year.

An ALL-TIME great post.

Consider this.. I have often been thought of as a pollyanna on this board... and I have experienced much of what this post lists simply because I think Gavin Wimsatt needs an awful lot of work.

Any chance Simon could use this year as a redshort year and when he saw what was going on.. in the Wisconsin game when they rushed back an injured Wmisatt while Simon had played well.. any chance he just asked the coaches if he could keep redshirt eligible this year? And that's why we basically had no backup QB and Wmisatt played every down even in bad losses?

Simon made some good plays in the Iowa game.
The offense also looked kinda wild (10 receivers) and Simon was 28 of 49 with a TD and two INTs.
Sean Gleeson was fired a few weeks later.
No doubt Schiano was having a nervous episode watching all the passing
I was glad to see offense playing like they were fired-up but the run game was dropped despite looking good. Of course RU was playing from behind

..for you.
Don’t be ridiculous. We haven’t won at least 6 games since 2014. Every loss we incurred, was to programs which have better facilities and materially better talent. We weren’t even close in the other 6 games. We didn’t just lose, we got smoked. So the reality is, this is a 6 win program.

Wisconsin game could've been 10-7 at the half or at least 10-3 were it not for a pick six before the half. The DB said he picked up on Wimsatt tipping his hand during film study. Better QB play there might have made it a W. Regardless, we were not SMOKED.

Iowa game was 6-0 after 3 quarters running an "offense" game plan that clearly was designed to minimize the chance of a killer INT. Better QB play might have allowed us to win. Instead, the D wore down in the 4th Q and we faded badly.

Maryland... you say the D was gassed? True, they had a lousy start, but it was still 28-17 in the 3rd quarter. If the offense could've had a better start... oh well.

Bottom line, the passing game needs to get much better.

Totally get where you’re coming from Gray. Understandably, your granddaughter takes priority.

But the fact is, our competitors use their F U money to fund NIL payments to their players. If we can’t do likewise, it puts us at a competitive disadvantage.
That wasn't directed at you Al. I'm just sick and tired of people telling others what they have to do with their money to be a "true" fan. If you can and want to contribute to NIL good for you. If you can't or have better uses for your money so be it.

Nonsense, yours was already better than ours and y’all spent an additional $70M to enhance it.

I honestly don't understand why anyone has problems with assessments like the above or criticisms of our QB. Surely he sees his own game tapes and knows he own mistakes and limitations. He has much to work on. Is not talking about it somehow going to make him more able to learn what he needs to learn?

And I do think it is learning. Learning, effort, practice practice practice. It has to become like muscle memory. We just cannot have another year like that at QB.

Sure, we have seen worse.. but we need to see BETTER. Much better. And we need more cowbell.

Wow- we listen to PSU fans more than our own in here.

GW was actually the only real answer this year- not knocking the guys behind him but from day 1- it was going to be live or die.
That said- GW did more good than bad. We won more games with him at QB then we most likely would have with someone else.
And that said again- as much as I supported him and say it was night and day between 22-23, he just never got better. So, that concerns me- but if he was starting day 1 next year and makes as much improvement as he did this year- then we are in good shape- if he is still a bub 50% passer with a limited playbook- then he just didnt make the step and we have to move on quickly.

And though his rating was so low- you all know damn well he was far from the worst guy behind center in college last year- IMPOSSIBLE to be bowling if he was.

For what ever reason, we had one good receiver who could run good routs and get separation. But this team was designed to be a running offense. RU has some good runners so the offense was designed on that strength. The receivers were not great but they were excellent blockers. Rutgers needs to get transfer wide receivers and the offense can transition to be more balanced. And it is a given that Wimsatt will be the starter next year. He is the guy.

as long as the NCAA lets them play...

It’s easy to talk about good qb play, but the fact is that we haven’t had good qb play since 2014. And until we boost the talent in the WR and TR Corp it will be difficult for the passing game to be effective. This why our offense was understandably run oriented.

And why talking about better QB play in the Wisconsin and Iowa games is a waste of time. Even when forced to pass in the Maryland game, because we quickly fell behind, Marylands DBs broke up 7 of our passes.

We simply weren’t built to have an effective passing game this year. Hopefully next year will be different especially if the freshmen can contribute.

Al, once again you're way off base. Teel took 4.5 years to be a good QB?
How so? It took him 4.5 years to be able to carry the team on his back. He sucked for the first half of his fifth year, as we started out 1-5. The 2nd half of his fifth year, he caught fire and was unstoppable.

This guy could land at Rutgers. He isn’t very good but still better than Wimsatt and a decent stopgap until Surace or maybe Sheppard is ready
No he’s not. He had Minnesotas WR Corp, which is better than ours. Put him on our team, and his completion % likely isn’t materially different from Wimsatts. If we want better qb play, someone is going to have to write a check.

He was great in his 4th year. What are you talking about?

He was great in his 4th year. What are you talking about?
He was great, but I’m talking about how the 2007 team was carried by Ray Rice and his 2,012 rushing yard performance. The 2008 team was carried by Mike Teel.

50 years from now when we go 9-3, Al will be like "See I told you all! Greg had a plan. We just needed better WR talent and NIL money."
