Also regarding TCNJ…
It’s a good school, they just hype themselves up too much. It can never be compared to Rutgers.

Even from a non-Rutgers perspective, this list is questionable. Nebraskans are extremely proud of their university and they are wayyy down the list. Clemson? For Nebraska (Lincoln) the WSJ takes in the students satisfaction for the university in the Engagement section (ranking 72). The lower ranking for Nebraska was a result of Nebraska's ranking in the Outcomes section (ranking 363) and Resources section (ranking >400).
The Outcomes and Resources account for 70% of the total ranking.

Again just reporting WSJ Ranking information whether one agrees with them or not.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

It shouldn't have to but it still might take another generation or so for Rutgers to distinguish itself across multiple fronts and the sleeping giant reference could really be applied beyond football and athletics where that's typically been utilized about the school's potential. I think it has application across the university as a whole and it needs to harness that potential better in terms of student experience and satisfaction. Though its peers are not standing still by any means so there is work to do to ascend the ranks and maintain an upward trajectory.

I think you're going to great lengths to disregard data that clearly shows that Rutgers' students do not have as favorable perception of their school as students to at many other schools. That perception helps to drive the feeling among a substantial state high school kids that Rutgers is a place to settle for, rather than a place to seek out. I believe Rutgers needs to do much more to address the issues that cause these perceptions. But I have made my point (even if you, among others, disagree with it), so I will not continue this thread further.
I'm not disagreeing. I'm just providing some bases. I understand your point, it's valid.

Applications to Rutgers are in another universe compared to 15 years ago. In addition, I notice more brothers and sisters are following in their older siblings footsteps.

Was talking to someone this past weekend that has a son who’s a junior in HS

He was under the impression that Pen St, UConn and Maryland were better schools academically than Rutgers.

I really don’t know but I said he should do some research
