At the close of this session, we are 1 pt. behind Ohio State for 5th and have distanced ourselves from Minnesota. We are wrestling really well.
Maybe I’m crazy but I think we actually have a decent chance at passing OSU
125 - RU for 5th, OSU done
133 - RU for 1st, OSU done
141 - RU for 5th, OSU for 1st
149 - both done
157 - both done
165 - both done
174 - both for 3rd
184 - both for 5th
197 - RU done, OSU for 5th
285 - RU for 3rd, OSU for 1st
RU can pick up points in 6 weights. OSU only 5, but they have an extra finals guy. The head to heads will probably decide it.

Gotta hope Mendez and Feldman both lose. Geog is underdog at 197 as well.
If OSU beats us head to head twice (no bonus) which is probably likely, then we would need a win from Shawver to take 5th place. If we can split the head to heads, then we would need a win from any one of Peterson, Moore, or Yara to force a tie and multiple wins would be 5th outright.
We have a chance, cant see Feldman winning and hoping Mendez loses, then we got a shot! I looked at 2019(since we had two champs) and we finished T-8(forgot how bad rest of team performed at Big that year). 2015-16 we finished 5th in BigTens which is our highest finish.
Hard part is I’m not sure if we win any matches in the final session. Shawver might actually have the best shot. If he wins then we’re in the drivers seat.
Yea, we underdogs, but someone is getting pinned at 184....hopefully it is Soldano gets the pin again!
Feldman is going to lose to Kerk… got a feeling Mendez will beat Bartlett… our best shot to our place Ohio state will probably come down to h2h.. we got Turley vs Welsh.. Welsh won earlier in close match so he’s fav but who knows maybe Turley goes into the Avatar state… then we got Soldano vs Rogotzke .. Soldano did pin him earlier in season….
Shawver doesn’t have a favorable matchup against Ragusin either.. 0-2 against him this season.. but listening to Shawver’s flo interview he said “ Teske was going to have to kill him to beat him”. Regardless of result, love that he has this killer mindset..
If Mendez wins, we need Shawver to match otherwise we have no chance without a pin somewhere.
Why does Dean walk his guy to the outside of the mat? He seriously needs to bring him to the center. Def needs to work on getting tougher on top too. Hope he wins this. 0-2 or 0-3 against this guy.

Shawver is just tough as nails. One of my favorite non-PSU wrestlers. He earned that B1G championship!
