Lmao you don't know how science works. DO you know what a journal is?
You don't know how science works. You can't make facts about someone's opinion. It takes studies that take time. She didn't do any of it! She is a fear monger trying to make a name for herself. As a fear monger yourself you bite at this BS anytime you can. Show me her complete scientific study on this! You can't she doesn't do any work. She just tweets BS

She is a famous scientist who has a job at one of the top medical schools in the world, and has been published by countless others. You are unhinged. Go find her work yourself.

Show me her work to back up her tweets! There isn't any. It's her opinion!

I don’t get why the CDC would suggest testing is not necessary in that situation. Why wouldn’t you get tested to be in the safe side?

Didn't see anyone post the follow-up, as CDC Director Redfield walked back the really dumb new guidance, by making it clear that asymptomatic people who have been in contact with infected people can get tested, although they didn't update the website. Another CDC misstep, which made them look bad again to the medical community. We absolutely need to be testing contacts of infected people so they can quarantine if positive. This also ties in to the discussion recently on the new, fast antigen tests, which are needed in the worst way so that such people can get quick results, since waiting a week for a test result is useless.

In addition, to NY, NJ, CT, CA, FL, TX and other states made statements about ignoring the guidance and testing asymptomatic people who had been in contact with infected people. It simply makes sense. The CDC really needs to update the guidance.

Yes she is a professor. Not a practicing doctor nor a scientist or with direct knowledge of the patient. You got fooled again. She has no direct knowledge that the first positive was real. The amount of 1st fake positive is outstanding!
There is no evidence that anyone has been infected twice with COVID-19. Just like the numerous previous reports, wait a few weeks and it will be debunked.

Stop being obstinate. There is strong evidence in the Hong Kong and Reno cases (in both Stat articles and Stat is a very reputable science source) that this is true reinfection, since, in both cases, scientists sequenced virus samples from both infections and found they were genetically different, strongly implying that this was a new infection distinct from the first. In both cases, the scientists do need to share their data so others can review it, but barring malfeasance, these look like reinfections. And keep in mind that this was always expected to happen - we should only worry if it becomes frequent and the reinfected patients become infectious (which wasn't assessed in these two cases).

Good, that seemed so bizarre.

The new test is good, I just wish you could do it at home. I’m guessing a spit version of this test ain’t coming anytime soon??

T knows better - he's trolling. And WB likes to argue with certain people and is being obstinate. This is not a clinical trial that needs to go through a preprint and then a formal peer review before it's "believed," by anyone, although they'll likely still do that from the group in Hong Kong, which is one of the world's finest virology groups. This is really simple stuff to sequence two viruses from one patient, so it's fair to believe it's true and assume the details will come shortly, probably in a 1-page communication to a journal. That's how science works, from someone who has published extensively.

Spit versions and finger prick versions have been out there and ready to go from what I've read (read the Mina article on this that I posted), but the FDA is the bottleneck here, as they don't want to approve "substandard" tests - but lower quality tests, used as a screen should be fine if they're very fast. One can always retest if not sure.

Do we know if "woke zombie" is telling the truth here?

I really think so. What she's doing is comparing the daily update from the governor's office to the daily changes buried in the various tabs of the state's Covid dashboard. She does this across several different datasets. It would be simple to repudiate her work, you'd just check the numbers. No one has challenged her.

Since I started following her, Twitter has recommended several other accounts of people doing heavy statistical analysis on the numbers, not just in NJ but globally. It seems, after some looking around, that there are a hell of a lot more data scientists challenging the mitigation policies or the idea that we should be continuing them at this point, then there are arguing in favor of them. In fact I haven't seen a single person who seems to be doing this tedious data analysis who suggests lockdown policies should continue.

So either they all have a mutual bias and agenda, or there's a clear consensus forming that it's time for some serious changes to how were handling this.

More lies throbber, try to keep up.
see the one WSJ article for example....IMO virus is happening regardless of masks or no masks...and quite frankly the social distancing stopped when people wear masks, its false sense of protection, I see interactions much closer in stores now than I did back in the spring.

but I did love the freakout by cnn over no masks last night during the convention speech close by Pence....it actually was a situation no different that you might see on a beach...where apparently we dont seem to have any indication of major case spread.
lyin' littlefkru gonna lie

Somebody pinch me. The NYT published this?

"In three sets of testing data that include cycle thresholds, compiled by officials in Massachusetts, New York and Nevada, up to 90 percent of people testing positive carried barely any virus, a review by The Times found."

"Dr. Mina said he would set the figure at 30, or even less. Those changes would mean the amount of genetic material in a patient’s sample would have to be 100-fold to 1,000-fold higher than the current standard for the test to return a positive result."

So then the virus is far more deadly ?

Based on Times article, schools can take student temperatures coming in. If no fever then they can go to class without a mask since not contagious.

If seatbelts work why do we have speed limits/ people die in car accidents still

Well you can continue to wear one and I will continue my practice of not wearing one . Now go back under your bed, covid is looking for you.

Just so we're clear: you're the coward in that situation.

Also, 100 percent chance the left-leaning posters here are out more than the right-leaning ones.

Ok , how am I the coward if I am not afraid of the virus ?
