Don’t kill us yet!

Meaningless
Yes you are. Just go away. You add less than nothing. Kinda funny how this clown is all over this board when the team does t make the playoffs but when they go on a FF run he’s nowhere to be found.

Some lax guy back in the day definitely bagged his girlfriend or something to cause him to be so triggered.

And winning is never meaningless. Clearly this clown never played a sport in his life.

they’ve had some injuries, but losing Ajax on D just before the Rutgers game was a killer.

Funny, when I was gametracking the B1g championship game, Eric Malever showed up on the roster. That would have been helpful. Last fall some said he would wear the “1” jersey this year…

Sorry, this was about Maryland. I meant to quote the posts about how feeble they have been…
Is Zappitello making it back for the tourney?

Ahhh, I get it now. You're triggered politically so you think disparaging the lacrosse team at the school you went to makes you feel better.

I always thought you were a loser. Now I believe you are an even bigger loser.

Thanks for clearing this up. It all makes sense.

He's a loser obviously. He never played a sport and certainly has no idea of lacrosse.

He's triggered though. Oh buddy.

Ban him from this board. He's made it clear he's not here to talk about lacrosse.

Unfortunately we do not have that level of granularity in the Rivals software, we can only ban at the thread level and for the whole forum.

No problem.

I vote the entire forum.

Or at minimum, this thread with a stern warning that if he pulls these stunts again, he's gone. He doesn't pay for premium so there would be no revenue loss.

Can't believe he outed himself like this. He really didn't consider his reputation nor future here.

Who needs to be banned?

So no tourney this year? Rutgers went Rutgers again!

I see the tournament only has 17 teams this year. Is it me, or was it 18 in past years?

Regardless, I agree with the above poster that 20 seems just about right.

If you follow RU Husky he is always making crap statements in every sport blog.

The other day against Princeton in Baseball he was the first to decide we stink and the game was over but the first to drop the WooHoo when we won.

The Bipolarity of some of these fans are pathetic.

Almost every team on our lacrosse schedule made the tournament. I went to all playoff rounds last season including FF and it was awesome. I was hoping we would make it to Philadelphia for a simple trip. My son wanted to go again and was hoping.

OT: I pray that UCONN does not host another FF.

Cali, I have no inside sources at all, but nobody I know who follows it thinks he'll be back this season...

That's really unfortunate. He's a great player.

That offense is as much of an issue based on last game though. They couldn't get anything going. Army can defend.

Hopefully Maryland can win enough faceoffs to not allow Army to get going on offense.

I am not saying that RU Husky is employing this tactic but there is a subset of the population that thinks disparaging someone/something that they love/like is actually beneficial. This immature mindset presumes that if person A disparages person B, person B will perform better next time because they fear and want to avoid the belittling so will want to perform better to prevent it.

My perspective is that fear is not a good long term motivator. It might work in keeping people in line(army, prison, etc.) but it doesn't do much to build confidence.

Watching the Princeton and Michigan teams this weekend you could see the belief in themselves growing as the games/weekend progressed and in the finals both were so juiced they could have been world beaters.

It is the same mindset we will need to evoke to beat a team like Maryland who even on a down year exuded confidence coming into our house.

I think as RU fans it starts with not bashing ourselves as it opens the door for doubt and uncertainty.

That said some constructive criticism to refine process is more than OK.

The guy is a turd. Either a troll of RU from another school (Connie is my guess based on his name) or a self-loathing RU fan/alum who wishes he went to PSU or somewhere else for college. Now that he's on the mods radar, he might want to watch himself.

Thx you for supporting and traveling with the team last year. The fans were excellent

Yes, we were 15 RPI

5 of our 6 losses were to teams IN the NCAA tourney. Everyone is disappointed that this RU came up a bit short. Truth be told it might have come down to one game (at OSU) that kept RU out. That’s the fine line. No excuses. But it’s nice to see that the bar has been raised.

Nobody wants to win more than these kids. I was in Boston at the Loyola v Army game yesterday. It was a battle. One game and winner is in and loser is out. Harsh but that’s the way it is. Army won 10-8 but the effort by both teams was elite. My team fell short. Those are hard post game meetings with your kids….

It’s hard to get in…period

I wonder what strings got pulled for that one. UConn only has a club team. Foxboro is even a stretch. The finals should be at a site that's a day trip for both LI and Baltimore. That limits it to the Baltimore - NYC corridor, and includes SHI. Hartford wasn't an NFL stadium so that limitation has evaporated.

I could see quarterfinals being played at a site away from the foundational hot beds. Denver, Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago even LA. Promote the game, but that may be too expensive.

Army can really defend. Talked with my son after the game and he shared with me how tough they are to crack. I think they’re top five defensively this year…they have a couple shorties that look like bodybuilder that can run…Army will give UMD issues

I will say if Loyola didn’t only go 4/22 from the face off dot, I think Loyola wins. Game was 10-8 final and Army had 14 more possessions out of the draw…think about that

UMD can neutralize that advantage with Weirman

Yeah, I don't know what say about scoring 4 goals. I guess a down year is okay, though...

ETA: Oops, it was five goals, ha ha

Stick with a rotation of

Naval Academy
Philly (link)
Baltimore (BB&T)
SHI

That would be a really nice rota

Both the freshmen thrown into the fire on D by injuries, Kolar (PG) and Schaller were from my old school. Lot of potential there.

Not sure you were following back then, but roughly between 1997 and 2001 the finals rotated between SHI and BB&T. They then made the move to go strictly NFL facilities. SHI was a great venue, and there were some classic Princeton-Syracuse semi's. They should have been in the finals, but the committee seeded to have a southern team in the final.

I was extremely impressed at how hard the Loyola attack was riding in the second half, especially late. They got a bunch of extra possession but just couldn’t crack Army’s D. Their 6 on 6 defense is elite, maybe tops in the country. The best way to beat them is in transition, but they are very good at limiting unsettled situations. That was an extremely hard fought game that could have gone either way.

I didn't see the game but that is how we used to play when we were so bad at facing off. You simply have to create other ways of getting the ball. Riding is a great one.

Even then, with that disparity, your margin of error is about zero and both your offense and defense have to be almost perfect

It’s too much emphasis on one position that is very hard to recruit (crap shoot)

I’d vote for the sixes format today…score the ball and it goes the other way on a clear…maybe allow for 30 seconds to celebrate the score and shift to clear package and then blow the whistle and start your clear…I’m only half serious but also tired of one player having so much impact on a game…

It definitely impacts the game that isn't really part of it on some level. I'd like to see at least some real changes. Like your fogo has to stay on and play. Something.

Before Dugenio it was so rough. Being perfect is right. And for a team like us, it really impacted the mindset. Hard to play fast when you see a turnover leading to the other team potentially scoring and getting the ball right back.

Keep the FOGO on until a shot is taken or the ball leaves the field of play might work. But I would ask what the wing middies were doing. It's a skill that I believe is a part of the game.

I think a lot of people don't give Army the credit they deserve. Look at their three losses. An opener to UMass on the road by two goals, and one goal losses to Cornell and BU. Maryland is going to have to score in double digits against them in order to win, and if they get into repeated 6 on 6 situations, Army will win.

I think something needs to change, either with faceoffs or closest to the ball on shots. Even with the shot clock, which was the single best rule change in college lacrosse in recent memory, it is still too easy to dominate TOP especially if you have an elite faceoff guy. Closest to the ball is pretty fundamental to lacrosse and I would rather keep that as is and see faceoffs reduced. Limit faceoffs to start of each quarter. Otherwise give 5-10 second count after goals and restart with the defense with the ball behind gle.

I just don’t think a specialist position should have that much impact on the game. Imagine if football rules allowed for a kicker with the right skill set to be successful on 80% of onside kick attempts. That kind of advantage would be nearly impossible to overcome.

Again it’s about recruiting.

There is no reason RU doesn’t have a Cole or Sissberger…hell even Albany first had TD Ierlan…

Need to make inroads with the Philly FO League.
