AK’s ability to throw these small window screens and passes into the flat is something we’ve desperately missed. He’s been very accurate. A drop and two great defensive breakups haven’t helped.
I've really liked what I have seen from Athan today. He makes all the throws that the team needs him to make. I also like that it looks like an effort is being made by the offense to pass the ball to the TE

We actually now have a QB that can complete passes to the TE and to the flat. What a relief!
What are you saying? You want lbs to have all the tackles. It means the OL can not get off double teams together to the LB.
We also have a TE who has speed and size. We haven't had that in a while.

If you have to go back several decades to name good players at a position then that is NOT a position that school is known for.
Now if want to say that Rutgers does a good job of getting good running backs then YES that is true. RBs are commonly our best players on offense year-in year-out
But tight end?!? Come on man
. One of the consistent complaints year-after-year is the utter lack of production at the tight end position. We are the exact opposite of a tight end school …. For a considerable time now

Just got home for the KM td. It's not horrible to have a slow start in the 1st game if we close it out looking like we should. I don't care how good Howard was last year... if we want to be taken seriously as B1G team, we gotta blow them out. Lfg and elevate our game.
Wimsatt might be better than Athan on designed QB runs, but Athan is better at scrambling on plays that are not designed QB runs
Any idea where WR Brantley is ? He was a big time WR transfer that got screwed last year by the NCAA.

Say what you what about Greg but the man is intense and will fight for his team regardless of the score.
Yes, he will fight for his team. But still, I would characterize his allowing himself to get that penalty as unwise.
He hasn't played for 2 years, so I'm assuming he is far down the WR depth chart.
I know it’s only Howard and only 1 game, but it sure does look like we upgraded our QB pretty significantly
