It's always worth taking a step back and looking at our conference schedule from 2 years ago for some perspective. SMU, Temple, Houston, Cincy, USF, UCF, UConn.

Whatever your feelings on the state of the program, we're in the farking Big Ten and have MSU, OSU, Neb... At home, in Piscataway and every one of those games I'm going to feel like a kid on Christmas Eve while I'm tailgating. OK, maybe a slightly drunk kid, I don't judge your family, don't judge mine ;)

Go RU!

We attempted 7 field goals that day. Missed 3 of them. And still won.

Another interesting stat - how did we win? Well our leading receivers were our RB with 6 rec, our TE 3, WR Shawn Tucker with 3, one WR with 2, and no one else above 1. 20 pass attempts to 50 rushing. Also, our longest reception was 34 yards. Most of the rest 20 yards and below. Just sayin

I like this post.... Very optimistic and very true! Thanks for posting!!! Go RU!

As much as it gives us somewhat of a blow, i hate that illinois and minnesota are replacing nebraska and wisconsin

Once again... If Laviano had been leading the team to points the lack of long passes wouldn't be such a problem.

Some here seem to think the short passes are part of a great gameplay. I highly doubt the game plan expected just 3 points against Penn State or about 14 against WSU.

Even he's not leading RU to points against weak defenses (or teams that have been scored upon by everyone else) there is s clear problem.

Many drives stopped by fumbles and crippling penalties. Some cl's fault but too many by the rest too.

Why is this all on Laviano? How many touchdowns were called back because of penalties? How many impressive drives were stopped short because of penalties and a few fumbles? Did he throw a stupid interception ,yup but the scoring is not all on him IMO.

OK, I've been out of the country. When and why do we play MN and NE. Are they moving into the East Division?
Tx, C.S.
----------
As we know, we play a couple of west division teams on a rotating basis, so Wisconsin and Nebraska
Go off our schedule for a couple of years after this year, without checking I think Minn and I'll. are on schedule 2016

Obviously the poster likes to keep the best teams on schedule rather than the lesser ones, despite it making our schedule super tough.

I agrre not all CL fault- are we going to als place blame on him for having grant score a TD on a punt return and a kickoff return. It is a collective- we had 2 Special teams scores, 2 tds called back on penalties.

Great post, OP.

This is what we dreamed of for years.

Let's do what we did to Louisville and USF when they came in highly ranked for a night game. Let's hit these clowns in the mouth and turn the season around.

Another thing to remember is a game like this used to be considered the big, marque game of the home sked.

Now, not only is it a CONFERENCE and DIVISION game it's not even the "big" one for either.

And we get to do this EVERY YEAR from now on. Are you kidding me? Christmas Eve/Day indeed! LOL

I went to the MSU game in 2004, I think RU was giving away a semesters tutition to a random student that showed up, and it was still pretty empty. I remember having fun though.

Too bad John L. Smith isn't coaching this time.

Your memory must be fuzzy. I was there also and the place was packed. I also watched last night on BTN2Go.
