Him and the dope who is Joe Beningo just spent a whole segment talking bout college hoops and this weekends game. Talked about st. johns and seton hall at lengh but no mention at all about Rutgers. Even talked about Duke. I know we aren't in the tournament, but I told him he better start paying attention; we're coming.

Side note, these two , especially Joe are clueless and don't realize that the committee doesn't look at conference record or affiliation when picking the fields. At least do some research. They need Rothstein on any time they talk about college hoops to give them a clue about whats going on.

Why do you listen to those idiots

Joe is a disaster and so clueless. Evan is a nerdy fan boy who really lacks an understanding of the game. The best talent on that station by a mile is JJ

I agree; JJ is great. Big college basketball and football guy plus talks gambling a lot. Their main guys no nothing about college sports
I call JJ and talk wagers all the time. I called him after the RU Iowa game in which I had RU moneyline, yes, I know, that one is in the bad beat hall of fame. JJ was talkin up a storm about Rutgers that night. He really knows his shit

The betting friends I have, called me that day of the Rutgers / Iowa game as it was a Saturday with 150 games and my buddy who bets a ton more than me, says his guy that he uses for best bets , told him RU+4 was the best play of the day. My friend who normally stays away from anything Rutgers almost dropped the phone and could not believe it and called me and placed a nice wager. I told him afterwards I am glad he won his bet but that was one of the top 5 most gut punching losses watching RU in 40 years.

Twenty-five freakin’ Marches: Rutgers is nowhere to be found. This year will be no different. How much attention do you expect anyone to lavish on Rutgers? A couple of close games against top flight competition and feisty play that has led to three times the number of victories in conference anyone could’ve anticipated. But no upsets against legitimate tourney contenders and we’re still a long ways from making the tourney.

Still anti-Pike?

Not anti-Pike at all. He’s the right guy at the right time. Clean coach improving the level of competitive play. I’m pretty confident he can get us to the NIT next year or the year after. I just haven’t seen his ability to put together players who can get this team to the tourney. That’s my benchmark.

We’re in the Dance in two years. Mark it down.

Name the 7 Big Ten teams we are putting in our rear view mirror when that “Dance” year happens. I’m all for it but I can never figure who is losing ground to us. I am all on-board when we show we are capable of winning on the road, in conference, with some regularity.

this is a dumb argument and I hate when people post this. People post this as if you can't have a year or two where you are better than some historically good programs. Are we going to pass lets say a wisconsin from here on forward. Probably not. Can we be better than them for a year or two, bet your ass

I see top 4 as most likely to lose ground to us. Then we need to execute/hope for down years from the others:

PSU
NW
Nebraska
Minnesota
Illinois
Iowa
OSU
Wisconsin?
Thanks for an intelligent response rather than the usual smoke blowing and weak responses around here. Climbing over Ohio State and Wisconsin and Iowa is realistic and sustainable.

Absolutely agree we can sustain a program at or above the level of those schools. Not a prediction that we will do that next season. Wisconsin is clearly the most consistently strong of the bunch and the furthest away. We are one fluke bucket away from at least splitting the regular season series with Iowa and Ohio State this year.

Its 28 years and counting since last NCAA appearance.

We’ll pass the teams that we beat. It’s not as if the top 7 teams have never faultered or had down years.

John Jastremski. He does overnights and fills in during some day spots too. Loves to talk about betting. I swear he probably wagers over where a dog will lift its leg.

WFAN comes down to Bar A in Lake Como in late August and does a show. They would hold a contest with several amateurs trying out for a one year overnight gig. I think he was the winner several summers back.

Yes- that’s right.

Why would they discuss a meaningless RU victory over Minnesota?

If they were a college b-ball show, sure, I’d see your point. But they’re a NY sports program..and RU hoops isn’t that big a blurb in NY sports. They’d be dumb to talk about RU.

St Johns was a huge win vs SHU..very meaningful. Duke has Zion..who should be a Knick next year. There’s interest there. Rutgers hoops is certainly making strides and will hopefully be making headlines in NY and around the country soon..but we have a ways to go.

Jerry Recco and John Minko were singing the praises of both the team and the RAC this morning with Boomer. Chris Carlin has been all over Twitter propping up the team as well, including last night. Both are very fair in trying to get us our due. The rest of WFAN is short on talent/brains.

Gio - pretty vanilla, but not terrible
Evan - probably my favorite personality
Joe - completely lost
Bart - brutal
Maggie - brutal
Mike - complete caricature of himself
Somers - a dated novelty
JJ - not bad, but that accent/voice...
Tony Paige/Dick Neer - zzzzzz

NY Daily Noose’s sports media critic Bob Raissman refers to Richard Neer as Sir Sominex.

To be honest, worst show on the FAN is CMB. I like Carlin, Maggie is pretty chill, but Bart is awful.

JJ is OK but his accent is annoying. They should have more Jody Mac.

Whoever created/hired that trio should be blackballed from radio forever

Horrific

ESPN radio between 10 & 2 and The Michael Kay Show blow away anything WFAN can offer imo.
