Be more aggressive!! Watch him on pick and rolls. The kid is so damn tentative. Dive to the freaking rim and demand the ball and go up strong. Dunk it or get fouled. Instead the kid hesitates and doesn't get open.

This kid has enough athleticism and touch to be a factor. He plays timid. I love Pike. But he needs to demand more from him. He could/ should easily give us a few buckets a night. Which we need!

As soon as he entered the game MSU began a run and looked much better on offense. Reiber's lack of rebounding hurts more than anything. Wollf should play more than Reiber.

Based on how Reiber is playing, yes 100% Wolf should be in there. My point is Reiber is not reaching his potential. And it's mental, not physical..

There were high expectations but the injury prior to the start of the season has made Reiber to be a disappointment so far.

He seems like the only one on the team that knows how to pick and roll but we never get him the ball on the roll. Setting picks is something this team does not do well. He is not playing enough to get in a groove. I wouldn't mind seeing him get some time at the 4 when things are not going well, tonight we got 2/13 shooting from Mag and Hyatt.

That's factually inaccurate. Someone actually went back and looked this up last thread
Sure. Who cares? Edey picked up 2 early and sat. Could have easily been Cliff. That's why I would have started Rieb or Wolf, just to see how things went early. Don't know why you are still so pissy about the idea. It's long over anyway.

The better question is why are you doubling down on a strategy that likely would have lead to a loss when not going with your strategy lead to the best win of the season in college basketball?

I like Reiber. Pretty athletic with skills. Is he a prime-time B10 player? Probably not. But he’s been recruited over, and soon to be recruited over-over. So no big sweat issue here, move on.

That was me, i think. Not doing it again. There were very few games last season where Cliff had early foul trouble.

Reiber did look tentative last night. It can be hard to be assertive when you have limited minutes. But it's hard to say he deserves more overall. Just gotta keep confident and give it your all when your number is called.

I still would have started Reiber for first few minutes against Purdue, at least until they got up 6-8. Laugh all you want. I don't care. Luck of draw Cliff didn't pick up early fouls, which he is prone to doing.
It's absolutely amazing that all these head coaches don't use this strategy with their big men who have issues with fouling. Let's keep them on the bench to start the game so they don't get into foul trouble and then have to sit on the bench.

BRILLIANT!

Why the obsession with Reiber?
The kid had a decent stretch last year where he hit some threes and showed some potential.
Unfortunately, he gets lost on D. He’s not a B1G player. I think he could be a solid A10 or Big East player

You can't foul out if you aren't in the game to start with!

You’re right, next time let’s experiment against the number 1 team in the country on the road and play a guy who’s done nothing all year instead of one of our best players.

Izzo said in his post game floor interview that Rutgers was dominating in the first 10 mins…. Although that’s generous, I think it was only the the first 4-5 mins, and then we subbed. They attacked the paint. the rest of the game MSU was unconscious on 3s while we couldn’t hit any.

Yes! Why doesn't Pike see this?? If Cliff plays he might get fouls and then he won't be able to play!!!
