I have an idea for BVW. Since the vets are doing well as replacements for the injured outfield, why not sign some replacement pitching. Go out and sign Dallas Keuchel as a starter to replace Vargas or Thor. Sign Craig Kimbrel for bullpen help.
DUHHHHHHHHH!!!!! BVW is too smart for us.

My guess, and this is only a guess, is that both pitchers and their agents are biding their time until after the June draft. After that, the signing teams will not have to forfeit any compensatory draft picks. The market will heat up, and I suspect it will be too rich for the Wilpons' blood.

I think that BVW has already spent, and perhaps overspent, his budget. His hands may be tied. But if so, you could say it's his own fault for spending it on Lowrie instead of another starting pitcher.

Lowrie is looking more and more like a mistake.

Transactions du jour: Vargas up, Gulliorme down. That leaves Mets with no backup middle infielders. If either Rosario or Hechevarria get hurt, I don't know what they'll do.

Thought Conforto might also be activated today, but no.

Did I forget to mention that this series looks a lot like the Marlins one. Don't be surprised if the Mets are swept.

Definitely think we will see serious action on these guys in June. When those dominos fall, then movement on some trades such as Bumgarner.

Not sure anybody here thinks highly of Callaway. BVW on a year 1 leash that gets tighter by the day.

Brodie has to get some props for some of these non big time acquisitions. Santiago came up big. Now we wait for Kemp and Santana :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Nimmo has a bulging disk in his neck and is experiencing whiplash. No telling how long he'll be out.

Lucky if he gets thru 1. Refusal to ditch this guy sank the season.
Do you really think Vargas is the reason we suck right now?
Familia/Cano/Frazier and subpar Big 3 starters and maybe evrey time a batter has a hot day they get sat the next day, has to do with it.
When the team gets back to healthy, could we just go with our young players please
Alonso - 40 HR 110 RBI
McNeil - .320+ ba
Rosario - solid at plate
Davis 25+ HR
Smith(find any way possible to teach him OF) .300
JL- yeah- cant hit but great in field and always playing hard as hell
Conforto 30+ HR
Ramos - looks like he will end up with his normal year of .270 ish 12-15 HR and 70-80 RBI

All except for Ramos are under 27

I know it is never happening but...

Never gonna happen, BVW clients need playing time. And JL will bump one of the kids once he is healthy.

Transactions du jour: Conforto activated and is in the lineup, hitting 3rd and playing RF. Rajai Davis DFA'd. He leaves with our thanks and a wonderful memory. Hope he clears waivers.
