98% we lose
I know this is hushed upon here but THIS is the guy the Mets gave up Top 2 prospects for? AND for five years of Cano???Is Diaz' maximum 3 or 4 outs?
Theres ALWAYS those 2 days when a blind squirrel finds a nut.Close, but the actual number should be 100%. We have a heartless, gutless team with a horrble manager, GM and ownership.
I never liked bringing Cano in the dude is 36 and has a huge contract, but can someone explain how Diaz is this bad?I know this is hushed upon here but THIS is the guy the Mets gave up Top 2 prospects for? AND for five years of Cano???
Oh yeah, thanks Jay Bruce lol.
I don't think this team is heartless or gutless. They just have an awful bullpen.Close, but the actual number should be 100%. We have a heartless, gutless team with a horrble manager, GM and ownership.
This bad, what? He pitched his requisite one inning with 0 runs and 2Ks.I never liked bringing Cano in the dude is 36 and has a huge contract, but can someone explain how Diaz is this bad?

4 losses and a 3.64 era. Plus the limitations. "this bad" may have been over stating it, but I thought this guy was a premier reliever. This bad, what? He pitched his requisite one inning with 0 runs and 2Ks.
The Mets knew what they were getting. He did not pitch more than one inning in any appearance last year:

That's pretty standard for a closer:

Diaz had 4 blown saves last year. 2 were early in the season.
He has 2 so far this year. And he has had 2 bad outings- one against LA and one against St. Louis.
He has been infected by the rest of the bullpen?4 losses and a 3.64 era. Plus the limitations. "this bad" may have been over stating it, but I thought this guy was a premier reliever.
I am a bit surprised that no one has brought up the key play of the game - the Nido passed ball on what should have been an inning-ending K. (Yeah, I know it hit the dirt and thus was technically a wild pitch. But Nido HAS to block that ball.)
I can say with confidence that if Ramos had missed that pitch, there would be at least three posts on the topic.
Good observations, except I'm not giving Kingery credit for hustling. Nido botched that ball so badly Kingery could have walked to first. The Phillies' color guy,a former MLcatcher, was all over Nido about his technique. You'll notice that Nido had one knee on the ground and the other knee in a squat, and that means the ball goes off the chest protector at an angle. Give credit to Kingery for hustling on the play. By contrast, Cano won't run out a ground ball. The Phillies are not, IMHO, that good a team, but the Mets can make them look like the 1927 Yankees. I feel bad for you guys because the Mets do have some promising young players: Smith has homered in all three games against the Phillies (which no doubt is why he was pulled in a double switch!)
And had Cano been at bat in the same situation, he would have walked to first, or walked to the dugout and sat down. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:Good observations, except I'm not giving Kingery credit for hustling. Nido botched that ball so badly Kingery could have walked to first.
It was costly, yet I think Ramos has been worse defensively for the seasonI am a bit surprised that no one has brought up the key play of the game - the Nido passed ball on what should have been an inning-ending K. By a country mile.It was costly, yet I think Ramos has been worse defensively for the season
You're a day late. I posted this 24 hours ago.A ray of good news did shine through for the Mets yesterday, in that they signed Matt Allen, a 3rd round pick who was thought to be first round talent, but slipped because it was believed he was going the college route.
Could this be an instance where BVW's agent charm was able to woo a player into signing?
Like I was saying in regards to Diaz. This bad, what? He pitched his requisite one inning with 0 runs and 2Ks.
