This is where the Mets fail. Why do you repeat the same mistake every time.Edwin Diaz. Thats why. He doesn’t have mental composition for New York type of pressure. He’s all over the place now.
Calloway has the brain of a peanut. He’s incapable of thinking outside the box or having a feel for the game. Was there even a need to take lugo out of the game? This is where the Mets fail. Why do you repeat the same mistake every time.
Trade Diaz for a bag of rocks.
Diaz is garbage. How did this guy save 57 games last year? He seems like another Bobby Thigpen. BVW career as a GM will go down as a huge failure because of the Cano/Diaz trade especially if Kelenic or Dunn become perennial all-stars.
Correct me if Im wrong since I have fuzzy math tonight. But this was the Mets 24th blown save. Just going half of that, the Mets would be 62-43, probably, give or take, a half game behind the Braves for first. If the Mets never made the trade for Diaz and Cano, the Mets are at least 5 wins better.
Cano 0-5, 5 LOB. YEAH HES BACK TO NORMAL.Diaz blows another one. What a disaster. Cano 0 for last 20 also. Horrific.

BTW, and why was Thor taken out again?
And I agree that you dont trade Thor unless its for a Tatis type player. Not for a cheap 210 hitter that the Wilpons prefer.
The Franco/Benitez Route... NICEWe are not getting anything for Diaz. Might as well keep him and find another closer in the off season. Then we can convert Diaz into a set up man along with Familia. We will then have the market cornered on failed closers.
0 for 10 from the 4 and 5 hitters. Cano and Ramos are given to much respect at this time.Ramos 0-5 as well hitting 5th with all ground outs in the exact same spot. You can't make this up.
Agreed but Cano is:I don't believe in playing a guy just because you pay him a boatload of money. Either you want to win or not. Play McNeil at second so the Mets can get another bat in the lineup. Also, go closer by committee.

How nice of you to think of me!Doctor Worm doesn't like it when I call Callaway Mickey Moron but that is what he is.
Doc, I depend on you for info about the Mets. You are clued in, but Diaz has done nothing to merit status quo moves. How nice of you to think of me!
I assume the reason for your vitriol is the decision to pull Lugo and go with Diaz in the ninth? It is the standard move which most managers would make in that situation. But it is disappointing in that when Callaway got here, he promised to manage the bullpen differently. He has not.
I strongly suspect that Callaway lacks the authority to make those decisions.I don't believe in playing a guy just because you pay him a boatload of money. Either you want to win or not. Play McNeil at second so the Mets can get another bat in the lineup. Also, go closer by committee.
Actually your math is a bit fuzzy because as we have just seen, not every blown save results in a loss. But I definitely get your point!Correct me if Im wrong since I have fuzzy math tonight. Well even if you had watched the Dem debate instead, you couldn't have gotten away from it. Bernie Sanders was discussing bad trade policy. You would have felt right at home!So had it with that disastrous bone-headed trade
LOL Sorry to disappoint. Knight Report jinx still undefeated.Mets choke again tonight. There is something wrong with the psyche of this team. It does not matter who is on the mound, they choke late in the game (except for deGrom of course).
