OT: 2022 World Cup Thread

Our center forwards must be the most underutilized players in the entire world cup.

The midfield never looks for Sergeant or Wright or anyone else for that matter.

I like CV’s long ball there. Didn’t work, but it will stick in the Iranian defender’s heads.

Gonna be a ton of extra time before the half. I very much want to see the US continue the pressure.

He ain’t injured, he’s just hurt. Rub some dirt in it and get back out there.

So what does the U.S. have to do when Iran steps up the pressure, now that the US has a lead?

I’m okay with Weah choosing to one-two it back, just not his execution, needed it to be a few feet deeper. Would’ve been a push pass goal.

We will have opportunities to counter and expose Iran. They prefer parking the bus and looking for counters, but now they will have to come out more. I think having the lead is a HUGE edge for us.

You’re right it would’ve been an easy goal had he connected but imo US has never been the team that can create the perfect easy shot, not consistently at least. If you got a good look take it. Leave the really pretty stuff to Brazil, Spain, Argentina

Excellent first half by the US. Crisp, quick passes, working the ball well around the field, generating numerous shooting/scoring opportunities, including of course that great goal by Pulisic, and defending well when needed. Now, we're going to need to withstand the onslaught from Iran, which is why it would be really nice to get that 2nd goal.
