OT: College Football Playoffs First Round 12/20-12/21 Fri-Sat

Another pick 6 for PSU, who needs offense lol

That’s a 3rd mistake by Jennings, gonna needs another Clemson like comeback the way it’s going

What is Jennings doing?
He can be mistake prone so it’s not unusual. He can make some good plays too but these kind of things are killer.

Think he’s also a little tight from the magnitude of the occasion. Giving him some easy throws and decisions could help him.

Thus far, the playoff games haven’t been very competitive. The QB play in the SMU-PSU game is somewhere between awful and poor so far. Both defenses are good but the QBs are making them look great.

Jennings has single-handedly made it lopsided. I don’t think SMU’s defense has been bad. Even the offense has had its moments but his mistakes are just killer.
I think the best part of this is having games on campus. It just has so much of a better feel to see games finally played in the northeast in December. The warm weather games have become stale with perfect sun shinny weather. I would be all for expanding the field and 1st two rounds at campus's and have bowls sponsor them. A chip and dip corporation has two weeks to truck in their paper signs.

I think Alabama, Ole Miss etc being left out will lead to expansion to at least 14 (already in the contract, also solves the bye problem) and maybe 16 down the line.

Rather than keeping a team like IU or SMU out, it lets Alabama, Ole Miss, Miami etc in as well.

There will always be complaints about better teams left out and programs in the playoffs that don't deserve to be in .
I have been saying that all ten conference champions should be in playoffs and make the playoffs a 16 team affair with the conference champions and bring in the 6 top rated non champs..
I feel earning your conference championship deserves a playoff spot .

I think to have all champs in, it would have to be 20-24 or something because the powers that be won’t allow it without enough room for their own teams.

agree and even that would have people complaining the good were left out while som bad and ugly were playing.
When it comes to fairness, sometimes nothing seems like it will be workable when picking deserving teams

There will always blowouts, that’s just sports. There will also be good games and upsets. That’s also sports. It’s not all one or the other.

I also think this being the first 12 team CFP and being on the road and the first time being on the big stage gets to some teams and/or players.

Guys, this is how playoffs work. Lower seeds play higher seeds, and the higher seeds handle their business and move on. College football has had their quirky "only the best teams" beauty pageants for so long we forget this.
Not easy to win on the road in hostile environments either. Big stage jitters etc

Yeah what about game 3 ?
We’ll see how the next two games go. I have no idea.

Texas didn’t play anybody either this year but they don’t get the flack IU gets because they’re Texas. I think they’re a talented team but they didn’t beat anyone either.

They lost their 2 big games to UGA .

Just watching Pedo St destroying SMU as I'm sure Alabama could keep it to a one score game, no?
I think Alabama could be worthy too but you can’t know for sure how they’d do and it would be up in the cold too. It’s not Saban’s Alabama. If they can be blown out by a bad offensive OU team with poor qb play they can be blown out by PSU on the road in the cold.

The regular season has to mean something. If Alabama had lost one of those instead of both they would have likely gotten in but they didn’t. You can’t just disregard regular season results.

The fact that they were even considered at 3 losses shows the respect they get.
