Oh...so you DO realize that my absence was due to my posting privileges being suspended ?Still haven't heard from kbee, is he in exile again or just talks after the results?
Think they should hang onto Lugo.
I put zero into their effort on this- Every big name stays and every smaller piece goes.Think they should hang onto Lugo.
That sure did help some of those players look way better than they were!True. Are you counting players who aren't clutch performers but illegally steal signs in big spots to boost their performance?
So now your out in the open and still no talk about what happens tonight? I knew exactly why you were absent the 1st time you explained it,now I just wonder how a kindly gentleman like you would get kicked off for over a month! A friggin month, really? That seems pretty extreme, you must be so proud, 😎Oh...so you DO realize that my absence was due to my posting privileges being suspended ?
I thought you were having trouble grasping that....as you keep referring to my one month absence as self-imposed.
Good boy.
I already told you why. My posts in regards to Covid were not appreciated by management of the board. So now your out in the open and still no talk about what happens tonight? The Yankees are going to retain Judge. The Mets won’t retain deGrom, however. If the Met's feel deGrom is leaning elsewhere, they should actually go balls out on Judge and make a real play on him.
Lugo is an interesting case. Reportedly he was the most visibly distraught Met player after the loss to the Padres. Perhaps because he knew his career in the Met organization (the only one he has ever known) was over? He has frequently stated his desire to start. And why not, middle relievers don't get paid, at least not like starters do.Think they should hang onto Lugo.
Fair enough, I could say the exact same thing about mine, and we played better than yours. Since the word choke was so freely thrown around at the Mets blowing a 10.5 game lead even though they played close to 30 games over .500 during that stretch, then lost to a team with the 4th highest payroll in baseball. How would you describe the Yankees with the 3rd highest payroll losing to Cleveland, dead last in payroll if that happens? Widest gap monetarily in baseball history. I know the word I would use and yes if they lose, since clearly playroll means jack $hit come playoffs.https://sports.betmgm.com/en/blog/mlb-highest-payrolls-2021/I already told you why. Also, I was pretty sure they wouldn't be playing tonight. No one knows what will happen tomorrow. That's why it's so unfortunate that my team allowed itself to get into the position of possibly having its season end because of one game.
We'll see.

Well, we may need a few starters...I forgot about his desire to start.
Not that it would have mattered, Mets played like shit down the stretch, but for this season only, no tie breaker game,a Rutgers screw type Mets break, lolAs you watch ALCS remember one thing
Mets played Yankees and Astros 4 times EACH. Braves played only the Astros 3 times at home.
5 more days rest for Max and Jake as well as Marte’s finger. So many key what ifs it’s has made playoffs 1000% unenjoyable to watch without getting pissed at how Mets flamed out
How about making Omar Minaya President of baseball Operations. Some of the best players ever to come up through the system were his drafted players. He still has great connections in Latin America. This is old news but I don't think it's been posted here yet, so I will do so:
1) Both Showalter and Eppler will be back next year. No surprise there.
2) The plan is to hire a President of Baseball Operations to whom the GM would report. However, that is a long term plan and doesn't necessarily have to be implemented this year. Translation: We'll wait until David Stearns is available in 2024.

Both sound good. How about making Omar Minaya President of baseball Operations. Some of the best players ever to come up through the system were his drafted players. He still has great connections in Latin America.
If only we had Grisham instead of them, maybe we win that series. 😩Learn how to play baseball
very Mets like for Grisham
3 and 1 , pitcher can’t find plate
Bases loaded
swing at a pitch that almost hit your back foot. Want more scoring in baseball ? Teach these idiots basic baseball
BTW , the guy hacking away batted 184 in 450 at bats this year. A record low in MLB history for a player with that many at bats
The Mets are positioned to be very competitive for a good stretch to come. They have a nice mix of veterans and youth. They finally have an owner that will spend both in the majors and at the minor league level, and scouting department.Looking at stats for the regular season- something I found super interesting...OPS, which is considered one of the best stats to determine how good a hitter is.
In the NL- only 3 qualified players were in the top 20 with less than 20 HR's. McNeil #9 Marte #12 Nimmo #20
OPS is fine but not really the best hitting stat. This article explains a bit why. OPS+ is better and then wrc+ and wOBA are probably the two best. Just some food for thought.Looking at stats for the regular season- something I found super interesting...OPS, which is considered one of the best stats to determine how good a hitter is.

Let’s hold off on the youts until Alvarez, Baty, and the others earn MLB roster spots out of spring 23.The Mets are positioned to be very competitive for a good stretch to come. Fair assessment, time will tell.Let’s hold off on the youts until Alvarez, Baty, and the others earn MLB roster spots out of spring 23.
And let’s see how FAs really look at Queens during Hot Stove.
Should be interesting either way.
As they say in the article- the stat does have some flaws but it is also a very easy simple stat that everyone can understand and it is a "pretty good" indicator of how a batter has been performing.OPS is fine but not really the best hitting stat. Is OPS A Worthy Stat For MLB Player Evaluation?
For a lot of MLB fans, OPS is quickly becoming the go-to statistic for player evaluations. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?www.thecoldwire.com

Yeah- if you take the actual active roster- there isn't much youth. almost everyone is 28+Let’s hold off on the youts until Alvarez, Baty, and the others earn MLB roster spots out of spring 23.

I don't disagree and that is why teams use it. I am just talking about most regular baseball fans- give them the basic stats and add in OPS and they have as much info as needed to know if a player is good or not. But if you are a mult billion $$$ business, you use every tool available.I think most people know it when they see it with the basic stats you mentioned. They are still super useful. When you have 30 teams fighting for the slightest of edges they'll look to any stat that could maybe give their organization an advantage. The margins matter in a game that lends itself to quantifying data like other sports can't.
Very critical to say the least.I'm having a very tough time thinking about what I want the team to do this off-season. Without knowing how high Cohen will go with payroll I basically flip flop every day as to who I want to re-sign or what FA's to go after. Very very very crucial off-season for the future of the team.
Yeah my Eppler scorecard:Mets apparently don’t like to make trades cause they suck at it ……
3 worst Mets trades since Steve Cohen took over as owner
When Steve Cohen took over as the owner of the New York Mets, things have been different in Flushing. The team spends the extra millions needed to give themselvrisingapple.com
Early on- my initial thought was sign deGrom no matter what. And a part of me feels that we still almost have to do so because if he goes somewhere else and has a Verlander type of late career- we will never break away from it.I'm having a very tough time thinking about what I want the team to do this off-season. Since you are making yourself welcome on the Yankees thread spreading nonsense I'll set up camp here. You keep mentioning that the Yankees haven't won in 13 years. Funny you keep proving how stupid you are because the Mets haven't won since 1986. I'll do the math for you. 2022-1986 is 36 years. I'll enlighten you that 36 is much longer the 13. Almost 3 times. Also to let the Mets fans on this thread know that you actually posted the Cleveland had just a $29 million team salary lol!! Your actual IQ is very low but your baseball IQ is zero. Your circle jerk boy Yes backed you up so apparently he is just as stupid.Very critical to say the least.
Any other CFs available before I go after Nimmo/Judge?Early on- my initial thought was sign deGrom no matter what. And a part of me feels that we still almost have to do so because if he goes somewhere else and has a Verlander type of late career- we will never break away from it.
But for the real baseball playing needs- Nimmo and Diaz are must signs. Unless Cohen goes nuts and goes after Judge- then, Nimmo is a must have.
Pitching is also so hard to come by- if we do not sign deGrom, I think we will need to sign both Bassitt and Cookie.
What I would like to see- I want to see The Met's go the way of Atl and extend Alonso and McNeil before they are FA's. For pitchers it is risky but for proven hitters- much less risky.
I would love if the Met's could find a way for either Turner or Bogarts to agree to come over to play 2nd or 3B.
People can’t just talk ball without talking 💩💩💩🤦🏻♂️Since you are making yourself welcome on the Yankees thread spreading nonsense I'll set up camp here.
