Wow. The starting pitching market es en fuego. I thought that would at best be Manaea's contract, not Severino's. MLB Trade Rumors had projected that Severino would get $51 M for three, and I thought even that was high.Severino to the As, 3 years 67 million
Mets get a compensation pick after the 4th round
Damn- hate to finish a career with $80 mil over the last 4 of itCareer ender in Oakland/Wherever, but to each their own
Talking any hope of a title. Sure he could have gotten similar coin elsewhere.Damn- hate to finish a career with $80 mil over the last 4 of it
Wow, they overpaid big time!!!!Severino to the As, 3 years 67 million

I think so too.Wow, they overpaid big time!!!!
they signed him in order to trade him away at the deadline for prospectsCareer ender in Oakland/Wherever, but to each their own
We all know that Manfred would be making up new rules if it was the Mets spending the $182 M
It is quite possible, if not likely, that in a few days the Mets will be spending $600M+. We will see if any rules change. My guess is no.We all know that Manfred would be making up new rules if it was the Mets spending the $182 M
We like to refer to this as a calling someone on their BS post.It is quite possible, if not likely, that in a few days the Mets will be spending $600M+. We will see if any rules change. My guess is no.
Oooohhhh. We like to refer to this as a calling someone on their BS post.
Anybody here knows as much as you do. We'll know something when news of their next destinations is announcedWhat is it starting to look like for Soto and Manaea? Coming to the Mets or elsewhere? And what's the news on Burnes?
FWIW (probably nothing) here are the last available betting odds on Soto's decision, per Draft Kings. What is it starting to look like for Soto and Manaea? Coming to the Mets or elsewhere? And what's the news on Burnes?
Jon Heyman is generally pretty well plugged in. Note that one team is conspicuous by its absence.Anybody here knows as much as you do. We'll know something when news of their next destinations is announced

I have lots of confidence in Stearns. But this strategy is subject to misses, and he got a lot of hits last year. At some point, we may have to take some surer shots.. . . That strategy worked pretty well last year. . .
I think Holmes is a pretty safe bet. If he performs as a starter he's a bargain. If he doesn't and ends up being a 7th 8th inning guy again he's an overpay but not anything nuts.I'm not getting a warm and fuzzy feeling about things as I see Stearns nickel and dime the roster without a big splash. There is this idea every pitcher can be fixed and suddenly he's better.
Did you say the same thing when the Mets signed Severino?
Good luck! :)
No idea. LS was an injury risk, but Holmes just sucks.Did you say the same thing when the Mets signed Severino?
But he was your All Star, lmfao. The Mets aren't going to use him like The Varsity did as Stearns is much smarter than the Yankees brain trust!!!
Good luck! :)
Even better when another Amigo chimes in too, lol.Really good deal. I know it's even better when T2KnowNothing is laughing.
About as funny as you thinking Mr. May 2.0 would lead the Yankees to #28. How many more years left on that contract? How about activating the Yankees offseason thread again, lol.
Good luck! :)
Sign Manaea Alonso and Sosa and call it a day- fill in some more filler roles
