Mark Feinsand of MLB.com yesterday defined the market for Alonso's services as "eerily quiet". Apparently no one is willing to meet his price, at least not yet.
What might that price be? As we know, last year Alonso reportedly turned down 7 years for $158M. He played out his final ARB year at $20.5M. Therefore, to get value equivalent to what he turned down, he'd need 6 years for $137.5M. Feinsand postulates that Alonso views this as his negotiating floor. I doubt he has gotten any offers in that ballpark yet.
