OT- NYC season long baseball thread. Mets, Yankees. 2nd attempt

Phillies starters looking good so far this year, their top 3 young starters combining for 54 Ks and just 5 walks in 41 innings. Admittedly it has come against some bad offenses......

Well, that's kinda key, no ?

Phillies starters looking good so far this year, their top 3 young starters combining for 54 Ks and just 5 walks in 41 innings. Admittedly it has come against some bad offenses, but that's excellent no matter who the team is. The team still has holes and Velasquez will likely be on an innings limit, but I think they won't be one of the 2 worst teams in baseball this year.

Eichkoff and especially Velazquez look really good for Philly. The very last pitch of velazquez's 17 k shutout was a 97 mph 2-seamer that just exploded out of his hand.

His delivery looks effortless which is key, and when you combine that with proper mechanics, you're going to be blowing that heater by a lot of hitters- regardless of how good or bad the offense is he's going against. Good trade by philly for acquiring that guy.

Conforto, could turn out to be the best home grown hitter since Strawberry, time will tell.

Not sure id go that far, straw had superior all around athletic ability, but yes there's no doubt that Conforto has the potential to be an excellent #3 hitter for NYM for a long time. Guy has an advanced approach at the plate and it's nice to see.

Wish terry would take off the kids gloves and let him play 150+ games vs lefties and righties. He may have no choice if he keeps raking!

Jake Arrieta throws his 2nd no hotter tonight!

Meanwhile the Yankees slump of hitting with runners in scoring position continues. Ugh
