Relaxed has been the problem. You need fire and energy to win. Last game before the break they relaxed with a five run lead. Tonight they relaxed with a six run lead. Someone better get angry. Pete Rose never relaxed, Ray Knight, Backman, Dykstra all played angry winning baseball.

As a Pirates fan, this walk off brought my great joy. Not gunna lie… I don’t get a lot of fun moments with them
Diaz is a head case and has been since he’s been here. You can’t hit the first batter and walk the second. I don’t care how many games he saves. He’s constantly rattled.

Difo is a switch hitter. I don't know which is his stronger side. Lugo had retired the prior two hitters on soft contact. He appeared to have righted the ship. I think giving Lugo one more batter was defensible there.
My observations:
1) Brutal loss. No way to sugarcoat it.
2) File the 340 foot grand slam under "Shit happens". Pitch was a half foot inside. I have no idea how he kept it fair, much less hit it over the fence.
3) Major league hitters hit and sometimes the hitters win. What is inexcusable is three walks and a HBP in 1.2 innings from your top two relievers. Cannot happen. If it continues, then you need to find a new pair of top two relievers. And you have 12 days on which to do it.
4) Scoring seven runs is nice, and certainly should be enough, but they left a lot more on the table. 1 for 9 with RISP tonight, with 2 DP's (so it's really like 1 for 11). Four DP's in all. 1 for 21 with RISP for the series.
5) Key play in the ninth was the shot to Villar. I won't say he SHOULD have made the play, but he certainly COULD have made.the play. If he does it's a DP and ballgame.

Probably only a few 3B in the league make that play in the 9th. That ball had flames coming off it. The problem I had there was the hittable pitch on 0-2.
Ok- on another note, I have not seen any of Megil’s game. Is this kid legit? Or is it another Peterson?
At this point I would say better then Peterson. Only issue/concern I have with him is he usually gets a high pitch count early in games. I will gladly take that it this point. He clearly should have had another win last night
