Keith On the home plate ump…..”He has been eractic”. Seriously little league umps call a more consistent game. Before coming at me I am saying ump has been horrible for both teams. Hard to hit when you have no idea what to take and what to swing at………….and yes at this point even with the most consistent ump we would still struggle

Boy they sure were excited in the dugout when Megill hit that double. Like yeah that'll get us going. 😏 Nice job Nimmo. Swing at a borderline pitch on 3-1 that may have well been ball four. Either way it's not a hitters pitch that you should be swinging at with the count in your favor.

I don’t care about Herrera’s issues. There are hundreds of scumbags playing professional sports. All i care about is the Mets getting it togeather and wining games. The Mets simply don’t play well with pressure, which explains why they cant drive in runs with people on base. Note to management: Find players that play well in pressure situations.

Mets pitchers all of a sudden having a lack of control. Would like to see balls in between the eyes of 1) Conforto, 2) Nimmo, 3) McNeil. The Mets and their fans are little brother and always will be.

Note to management: replace yourselves and leave the job of getting new players to the new management.

Whatever…players play the game and have to produce. I think it’s an easy answer in baseball to say “fire the coach” or “get a new GM”, they are ultimately responsible, but players win and lose games. The Met players have been bad in pressure situations, so a lot of this falls on them. Alonso, the self proclaimed “best power hitter on the planet”. Here’s a clue Pete, when you lead the MLB in HRs in 3 or 4 of the next 5 years, maybe we’ll agree.

So many years of Mets mediocrity have turned you into this ?
1986 was sooooo long ago.

Yes… unfortunately. At 63 and following a perpetually mediocre team has its downside. This year has been disturbing because they were in 1st place for 3 months and now have collapsed. I guess it’s better than a final 12 game collapse but it stings just the same. I don’t.mean to rationalize abusive behavior but it has become so commonplace with pro athletes it doesn’t raise my ire anymore.

Yeah… Alonso and Davis are always clutch!!!

Front office should be fired for not finding the solution to their hitting problems… And for screwing up their first round pick.

How predictable. They hit some home runs because A. There was no one on base. B. The game wasn't tight at that point. But what happened when there were men on base and the game was on the line? They reverted to form. No one in this regular lineup should be untouchable in the off-season. Except Lindor due to his untradeable contract.

Oh you mean like what happened to Davis earlier this season that cost him two months. Or fat ass Alvarado throwing one towards Conforto's head. GFY!!!

You know, outside of NYC, 2000, seems like sooooo long ago. How many franchises have put The Yankees in their rearview mirror? I will enjoy another post season exit. 21 years and counting for The Varsity, yet you say to shut up when your not winning, sooooo funny.

What Id do for next year:

1. Fire Rojas and the entire coaching staff and bring in a real professional manager such as Showalter / Bochy. Rojas is so above his grade level

2. Hire a real bonafide GM who can swing deals at the trade deadline and not mess up an amateur draft. Front office gets an F at deadline and for draft.

3. This won’t be popular but trade Degrom and replenish the farm system with an infusion of top talent. It’s the best for Degrom also as he doesn’t deserve this dysfunction

4. Get rid of the stench on this team anyway you can via trading McNeil / Davis /Nimmo. Let Conforto walk and get the pick.

5. Sign free agents who are winners and who make contact . Don’t know who all the free agents are next year but Id sign Bryant at a minimum and Marte

6. Resign Stroman and Thor

7. Cohen has made his bed with Lindor unfortunately so thus resign Baez. He plays with fire. Need more players like that.

8. Bring on a catcher who can platoon with MCCann. Nido not the answer.

9. Get rid of more of the bench stench such as Villar / Nido / Guillorme etc.

# Accountability. This franchise never has had it.

It’s officially over

All front office people should be fired for not addressing the issues at trading deadline. AND for screwing up that first round draft pick.

BTW, didnt watch the game but is Drury hurt and that was why he was replaced by Konforto?

Interesting. My primary comment is - are you calling for a rebuild or not? Seems at first like you are, and then you call for the signing of high priced free agents. IMO if you're signing Bryant and Baez, then no point in trading deGrom. Or vice versa.

Some specific comments:

1) Agree that if Mets don't win the division, Rojas and his staff are gone. Could still happen even if the Mets limp into the playoffs with 85 wins, and then make an early exit.

2) This I think is the root of the problem. Alderson was supposed to be a hands off team president. He was supposed to bring in a VP of Baseball Operations, who would bring in a GM. We wound up with neither.

3) Unless deGrom comes back strong in September, not sure he brings back enough to justify a trade. Right now he's damaged goods.

4) OK so you ARE going into full rebuild mode? BTW, you only get a draft pick for Conforto if you make him a qualifying offer, which he just might sign.

5) "Sign free agents who are winners..." well that's the real trick isn't it?

6).Would be shocked if Mets sign both Marcus and Thor. Pick one. Although if they traded deGrom as you suggest, maybe then they do sign both. But they're not trading deGrom, not unless they're going into full rebuild mode, which they ain't.

7) Yeah I agree they probably resign Baez.

8) Nido may not be the answer, but he sure as hell isn't the problem either.

9) Agree Villar is gone. The other two stay. Need some inexpensive bench players. Can't pay all 26.

Can’t trade Jake. What we would want to get back no team would pay. They would use the injury to negotiate against us
