Just remember one thing about Wheeler. He really came into his own once he got away from this organization and their comic book coaches. He probably wouldn’t have been as good if he stayed. I’m sure Conforto will be fixed next year too when he’s playing for someone else. Makes you think DeGrom would be unhuman if he played somewhere else…unless he’s just smart enough not to listen.Team and organization are a joke, as always. You lose DeGrom, Walker has been shit for months, Carrasco is just coming back, Megill is still unproven over any kind of relevant sample and the only thing you do to improve the pitching is Rich Hill? No bullpen help either? How overworked is Castro? All of a sudden you count on Familia as a major component of the pen?
Baez just got hurt with a different injury but he was damaged goods to begin with when The Mets traded for him. Bum foot. Ridiculous. Did they really focus on him over Bryant? Assnine, if so.
And who is this hitting coach they hired. Who the hell is Hugh Quattlebaum? The approaches are absolute garbage. No taking into account anything like game situation, runners on base, count,...just swing for the goddamn fences every single swing. Kennedy blowing Alonso and Davis away on 6 straight 93 MPH fastballs up in the zone because the idiots won't adjust anything on their ridiculous uppercut haymaker swings. Garbage.
And now I have to watch Wheeler, who the previous regime was too cheap to pay, blow us away en route to a Cy Young Award and Division Title.
Rant over. So goddamn frustrating. Division fng stinks. Acuna major injury. Division was there for the taking.
We see you skew negative most of the time, but your comment makes no sense when you consider how strong the Mets pitching has been. See Taijuan Walker, deGrom, Syndergaard, etc.Just remember one thing about Wheeler. He really came into his own once he got away from this organization and their comic book coaches. He probably wouldn’t have been as good if he stayed. I’m sure Conforto will be fixed next year too when he’s playing for someone else.
Cmon man. What about DeGrom?Just remember one thing about Wheeler. He really came into his own once he got away from this organization and their comic book coaches. He probably wouldn’t have been as good if he stayed. I’m sure Conforto will be fixed next year too when he’s playing for someone else.
Oh the irony! Struck a nerve I guess. Figures NY fans can’t take being called out. You are the first to chastise Philly fans but you succumb to being soft patsies and making excuses when the rolls are reversed. Typical.LOL. A 20 second video clip used to paint Mets fans with a broad brush. This is the part of the thread when douchy fans from other teams come to mock and belittle the Mets. Stay Philly, dude.
Should have said stay douchey. And it seems you don't know what irony means. Not surprising.Oh the irony!
Dude I get your beef but enough already. Baez has been playing hurt since he came to NY. We can argue all day should they Mets have traded for him or not. Please don’t tell me you’d rather Almora be at the plate, he had ONE game having 3 hits, Rather have Baez over a totally lost Conforto ( by the way not only lost at the plate but also the field). I will say it again when he is on base he gets it dohe. Look at his slide at home where every other Met is out.No. 0.233 OBP since he joined Mets. Lower than Nimmo, McNeil, Alonso, Smith, Davis, CONFORTO, Villar, and even Almora during the same time frame.
He beats McCann.
Should have said stay douchey. And it seems you don't know what irony means. Not surprising.
deGrom is not getting traded. They did that with Seaver and the organization saw how it was received. I don't think they want to experience that again. It’s not a 100%rebuild per se because of the proposal to sign the applicable free agents. But the farm system needs top AAA talent which doesn’t exist - hence the degrom trade and thus get value for him when you can.
If the above happened, nucleus of team is as follows:
1b - Alonso
2b - Baez
SS - Lindor
3b - Bryant
OF - Smith / Marte / TBD via trade of others.
C - MCCann
SP - Noah / Stroman / Carrasco / Megill / Walker
Stopper - Diaz / Lugo etc
Bryant improves lineup because he can hit / makes contact and is flexible. Marte steals and can manufacture runs.
Point is the team needs a massive overhaul as the current model is ineffective and has proven to be a failure from the top down to the core of the team for several years.

Pete to all Mets fans:Pete getting ripped on WFAN.
Pete is right. We are hitting the ball hard………when we actually make contact…….oh and the Phillies are somehow hitting the ball harder and farther
More then the 25 man rosterT2, how many covid cases will the Yanks have this year?
Same as the Mets in 2020.T2, how many covid cases will the Yanks have this year?
I actually liked it. Pete wrote a big time check with his mouth. Let's see if he and his teammates can cash it.Pete to all Mets fans:
This is going to get ugly.
Such things never go over well in the NY sports area. He needs to be smarter than this.I actually liked it. Pete wrote a big time check with his mouth. Let's see if he and his teammates can cash it.
Hitting it over the fence>>>to opposing players? Did the batting coaches tell them this?Pete is right. We are hitting the ball hard………when we actually make contact…….oh and the Phillies are somehow hitting the ball harder and farther
They go over well if you can back it up. The Joe Namath guarantee redux?Such things never go over well in the NY sports area. He needs to be smarter than this.
Joe Namath made a guarantee, same for Messier. Pete said this is just a game and Mets fans should smile and be happy. That's belittling fans who are passionate about the sport and team. They go over well if you can back it up. The Joe Namath guarantee redux?
Alonso said "Just smile and know that we got this". Maybe not quite a guarantee, but pretty close.Joe Namath made a guarantee, same for Messier. Pete said this is just a game and Mets fans should smile and be happy. That's belittling fans who are passionate about the sport and team.
Apples and oranges.
Nope. Nor do I care. Can't worry about the ones who got away. True for both Rutgers and Met fandom.Anyone notice how good Springer is doing and how many HRS he has.
The callers to WFAN seems to disagree with you. :)Alonso said "Just smile and know that we got this". Maybe not quite a guarantee, but pretty close.
The day that I care about what the callers on WFAN think is the day that... well, I guess I don't know what day that is. But it ain't today. The callers to WFAN seems to disagree with you. :)
Yes, but I also notice where Bauer is right now. Besides, if the Mets coaches got hold of Springer, he’d be ConfortoAnyone notice how good Springer is doing and how many HRS he has.
Mets will probably be in 3rd by the end of the weekend.
If this doesn’t prove that Alderson and the rest of the front office should be fired, nothing will.
