We should have traded all these guys when their value was higher. Now we will get little in return. we could have had the top 3-5 prospects and 1-2 young MLB players for deGrom alone and now...
Not much has changed since last season. A myriad of ridiculous injuries (too many to list). Uninspired and underperforming acquisitions (McCann, Lindor, Baez), and many players going backwards (McNeil, Conforto, Lugo, Diaz, Walker, and now Davis).

I have no interest in trading deGrom but, if it were to enter my mind- I would not do it after this season. I see where he is and where the team is at trading deadline next year. If he stays healthy and doing what he does…and we are hovering again at .500, a team will over pay for him. If that doesn’t come about- keep him a Met for life.

Rich Hill will "start" the nine inning Game 1 today (actually, he'll relieve Carrasco). Stroman will start the seven inning Game 2.

Matt Harvey gave up a home run to Cabrera for his 499th. Harvey's ERA approaching 7 for season.
Son of a bitch. Phils are about to lose again but........Reds trailed the Braves 5-0. Reds came all the way back to tie it before scoring in the 11th to take a 6-5 lead. And some clown literally just gave up a walk off 3 run jack in the bottom of the 11th with 2 outs to blow it. Ruined what could have been a very good night.
By end of night, Mets will be 1 game behind Braves and Phils.
By end of tomorrow, if Mets win both and Braves and Phils lose (that's a big IF), Mets will be back in 1st place.
There's still nothing special at all about the Phils. They were just made to look better than they are by a stripped down Nats team and our floundering Mets. But the Braves are a worry because they're streaking and finding ways to win. And have been there done that of course. And what's more while we are dealing with LA and SF they next get the Nats and the Miami who can only beat us apparently. I think that's probably what Tico was referring to when he said we blew it. By giving away what could have been a 3-5 game cushion going into this rugged stretch.

I thought, like you and several other well thought out Mets fans, this division will continue to be a 3 horse race to the final week. Hopefully🙏 this well be the worse stretch the Mets encounter all season and it's behind us. With 50 games to go, finish 28-22, not a lot to ask, might just get it done! 85-77, see you in October.
