Oh and there’s the fact that they’re not hitting at the higher levels that they’ve been promoted to.Correct. None of the three have yet to sniff AAA. What's the rush? Besides, why start the arbitration clock now?

Alvarez has an OPS of .853 at High A, which is not bad at all, considering he's four years younger than league average.Oh and there’s the fact that they’re not hitting at the higher levels that they’ve been promoted to.

My thoughts are that the question you cite is not a big question at all. The answer is obvious. They cannot get rid of those contracts. I mean, they can buy Cano out, and likely will, but I don't think that's what you mean. There is no chance they can unload Lindor's contract on anyone. None. If they traded him, they'd probably have to retain responsibility for half of the $341M he's owed. Better to keep him and hope he turns it around. There is no doubt that this team needs to be dismantled. I don’t think there are too many people left on the other side of the argument. We also waited too long to come to this conclusion and lots of players have lost significant value. The biggest question remaining in the off-season is how to get rid of Lindor and Cano’s contract? Any thoughts.
I agree. Unfortunately, they just have to suffer through that horrible contract and try to adjust expectations that Lindor is an above average fielder and a very-overrated hitter. The Mets can live with him if they forget about the money and move him down in the lineup. If he doesn’t improve, perhaps they can move him in a few years. There are bigger problems than him on this team and absolutely no one on this team should be safe from potentially being moved. Personally, I can’t wait for Conforto, Smith, Davis, Diaz, and McNeil to be goneMy thoughts are that the question you cite is not a big question at all. The answer is obvious. I’ll go on record here now. 10 years from now, it will be Wright and Lindor as all time Met leaders in almost every categoryMy thoughts are that the question you cite is not a big question at all. Every single team in MLB would still make a significant offer for deGrom…and we should ignore them allIf this team will be rebuilding, and will be trading away Davis, McNeill, Nimmo, Diaz, etc, then no need to buy out Cano and definitely not Lindor. I would let them play and hope they retain enough value that they can be traded later for some prospects. The one that really hurts is deGrom. In April/May, we could have gotten whatever we would have asked for from a team like San Diego or Tampa Bay, etc. Now we may not be able to give him away for nothing.
I am going to respectfully disagree. Prior to Lindor getting hurt they remained a first place team even though they have not hit the entire season. Losing Jake was a huge blow as we lost our stopper. I agree changes have to be made but a total teardown may not be necessary. There is no doubt that this team needs to be dismantled. It’s not like they’ll sign their draft picks anyway.I don't want to sign any free agent who gets a qualifying offer. It would cost us our second 2022 draft pick. Not our second round pick, our second pick. As it stands now we are picking 11 and 12. Need to rebuild that farm system.
That still leaves a bunch of free agents out there as potential signees:
- Our own.
- Those who were traded at midseason, and therefore cannot receive a QO (example: Kris Bryant).
- Those who accepted a QO for 2021, and therefore cannot get another (example: Kevin Gausman).
- Second tier free agents who will not get a QO, but can be very valuable "pieces".
Are you one of the 0.0001 Yankee fans that wasn't asking to blow up the team before The All Star break? Boone sucks, Cashman sucks, frontrunners everyone of you. Still plenty to root for this season if you get my drift.Crooked owner and a bad baseball team. Not much good happening in queens. And that's facts. Sad.

100%. I guess he forgot how Big George made the bulk of his money. Paying off politicians that helped pass bills that grew his shipping business. Can you say suspended by MLB for illegal contributions? lmfao.A- hole poster who should do some research on George Steinbrenner
Fixed it for youCrooked owner and an obnoxious fan base. Not much good happening in the Bronx. And that's facts. Sad.
Stroman needs to be back. His era speaks to how consistent he's been all year. And if you're gonna play Nimmo at a corner OF spot you'd better have a CF with power. Can't have 2 of your OF's with such limited home run power.I am going to respectfully disagree. Prior to Lindor getting hurt they remained a first place team even though they have not hit the entire season. Losing Jake was a huge blow as we lost our stopper. I still believe they need a new GM and Sandy needs to be taken out of the personnel process. Hire an experienced manager, not someone who needs to learn on the job.
From there rebuild the outfield. Smith should go, add a center fielder and move Nimmo to a corner. Qualify Conforto, hope he signs and has a rebound season. Look at perhaps signing Castellenos if Conforto walks.
Sign Baez if you can to get power and solid D at 2B. If you can't sign him go after Bryant. Keeping Baez you at least keep something for the PCA trade and you improve the up the middle D. His strikeouts suck but you can live with them if you have other guys in the lineup who can make contact. Lindor is here to stay, will hit better than he has and is defensively plus plus. Polar Bear is fine at first and let McNeil play third until Vientos or Baty is ready. McCann is fine defensively and a place holder for Alvarez.
Pitching wise if you have DeGrom, a healthy Thor, who you must qualify but hopefully sign followed by Walker, Megil and either CC or Peterson as your fifth is still good enough to win the division. I don't think Stro is coming back.
The bullpen was actually fine but suffered from overuse. I know people get on Diaz but he is better than anyone we have had since Billy Wagner. Loop, May and Lugo are a strong supporting cast. The starters just have to be able to go more than 5 innings from the start of the season.
I am as frustrated as anyone because this division was there for the taking. Braves lose Ozuna and Acuna, Nats sell off and the Phils are mediocre. I don't think we need a 5 year rebuild. What we need is more consistent offense, especially from the outfield as well as better defense in CF. 25 outfield HR's from our starters is a joke.
Agree. I want Stro back but I'm not sure he wants to come back or if the team will have the cash to sign him. Cohen needs to commit to going over the cap. As far as Nimmo goes, agree completely. That's why I wanted Springer so badly in the offseason.Stroman needs to be back. His era speaks to how consistent he's been all year. That doesn't make Cohen innocent. Bottom line is big George won. Cohen has been---. On you mark ...get set...terribleA- hole poster who should do some research on George Steinbrenner
Wow, so if you win and are a convicted criminal it's OK? Must be the logic that allows you to count WS rings while leading baseball in convicted Steroid use, too funny. Reminds me of something else elsewhere that I won’t get into in this thread since it will be shut down ASAP.Wow, so if you win and are a convicted criminal it's OK? Does that something else start with a J and end with a B? 😇 😉Reminds me of something else elsewhere that I won’t get into in this thread since it will be shut down ASAP.
But it’s amazing that theres a blind eye on an owner who got kicked out of baseball TWICE, had a bunch of steroid users during their championship run, and has only won once in the 21st century despite their BIG spending. But will continue to be an obnoxious crew on this thread, even when their team is having a great run and is going to the playoffs.
Started out the game scoring on a balk he causedLindor just did something positive
